Labcorp is seeking a Senior HR Project Manager to join our team in Durham, NC.

Work Schedule / Hours: This is a full-time, exempt (salaried) position assigned to a First Shift schedule, with standard business hours of Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time (EST).

Business needs may occasionally require flexibility in work hours, including earlier, later, or additional hours, with reasonable notice provided when possible.

Applicants who live within 35 miles of either the Burlington, NC or Durham, NC location will follow a hybrid schedule. This schedule includes a minimum of three in-office days per week at an assigned location, either Burlington or Durham, supporting both collaboration and flexibility.

Overview:
Reporting directly to the Executive Director of HR Technology, the Senior HR Project Manager provides enterprise-level leadership to complex, high visibility HR initiatives that drive organizational performance and advance Labcorp's people strategy.

This role joins a team of Senior PMs within HR Technology and is responsible for overseeing a diverse portfolio of projects across all HR functional areas. The role is accountable for setting project direction, defining scope, establishing governance and delivery discipline, managing resources, and ensuring successful execution. Successful delivery includes driving adoption, ensuring data quality, enabling readiness, and achieving measurable business outcomes.

This position requires deep HR domain expertise, strong communication and analytical skills, executive presence, and exceptional project and change management leadership. The candidate must be able to navigate a dynamic HR technology environment that includes Workday, ServiceNow HRSD, LMS platforms, AI-driven capabilities, and a broad HRIT integration ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project & Program Leadership

    • Lead end-to-end delivery of HR technology and transformation initiatives, including Workday enhancements, HR data programs, vendor implementations, AI-for-HR solutions, automations, integrations, and employee experience improvements.
    • Manage dependencies and orchestrate alignment across multiple teams, functional leaders, and business partners; serve as the primary escalation point for risks, issues, and roadblocks.
    • Build and manage detailed project plans, timelines, risks, issues, and deliverables across multiple workstreams.
    • Establish and drive portfolio-level reporting, resource planning, and prioritization.
    • Ensure all projects follow appropriate governance, change control, testing, and deployment processes.


  • Stakeholder Engagement & Change Management

    • Partner with HR Centers of Excellence, HR Operations, IT, Security, Compliance, external vendors, and others to ensure alignment on priorities, requirements, and delivery plans.
    • Prepare and deliver executive-level updates, dashboards, and business cases for senior HR and enterprise leadership.
    • Lead change management strategies for HR technology, process, and policy initiatives.
    • Anticipate organizational impacts and guide business leaders and HR partners through change with minimal disruption.


  • Technology & Process Enablement

    • Work closely with HR leaders, HR People Operations, AI/automation teams, and external vendors to drive cohesive, scalable, and future-ready HR solutions.
    • Translate business needs into future-state workflows, system requirements, and technical deliverables.
    • Identify opportunities to modernize and streamline HR processes to improve scalability, consistency, and operational excellence.
    • Champion innovation through technology, automation, enhanced data utilization, and improved employee experiences.


  • Risk Management & Quality Assurance

    • Proactively identify risks, dependencies, and constraints; implement effective mitigation and contingency strategies.
    • Ensure high-quality delivery, including thorough testing, readiness checks, deployment planning, and launch support.
    • Maintain backlog refinement, sprint planning, and project management boards for accuracy and transparency.
    • Ensure compliance with security, privacy, regulatory, and ethical standards across all HR initiatives.
    • Establish KPIs and value metrics to evaluate project outcomes and long-term impact.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business, Project Management, Information Systems, or related discipline.
  • 7+ years of project or program management experience, with at least 3 years leading HR or HR technology initiatives.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3 years of proven experience delivering medium-to-large-scale HR technology projects across one or more areas:

    • Workday (HCM, Talent, Payroll, Absence, Learning, Compensation)
    • ServiceNow HRSD
    • HR data & analytics platforms
    • AI/automation (chatbots, generative AI, RPA, workflow orchestration)
  • PMP, Agile/Scrum Master, Prosci, or similar certifications.
  • AI/LLM fluency, including practical experience using LLM-based tools.
  • Experience with AI, RPA, or Automation projects (e.g., UI Path, Automation Anywhere, or Copilot) in HR Ecosystem
  • Planning and delivery (management of scope, schedule, budget, tenant strategy, risks, and change) of Workday projects (enhancements, 2x yearly releases, M&A initiatives, new SKU implementations, integration builds, Extend apps, etc.)
  • Experience managing vendor partners and SaaS solution providers.
  • Familiarity with enterprise HR architectures, integrations, and security frameworks.
  • Strong understanding of HR processes and employee lifecycle.
  • Demonstrated expertise in project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid).
  • Exceptional communication, storytelling, and executive presentation skills
