Research Study Technician-2nd Shift

Labcorp is seeking a Research Study Technician to join our Animal Operation team in Madison, WI!

Work Schedule:

Second Shift: Employees will work either an 8- or 10-hour shift between 10:00 a.m-8:00PM CST

Training Schedule: Training will be conducted on first shift (6:30 a.m. - 3:15 p.m.) for approximately the first six weeks. After training is completed, employees will transition to the second-shift schedule.

Job Responsibilities:

As a Research Study Technician, you'll apply your scientific curiosity in researching the effectiveness, safety and toxicity of drugs in early development animal research studies.

• Maintaining the highest standards of animal care and welfare in accordance with the Association for Assessment and Accreditation of Laboratory Animal Care International (AAALAC).
• Handling and restraining animals
• Administering test items
• Collecting biological samples
• Performing clinical observations
• Collecting and reviewing data in accordance with the Good Laboratory Practice Regulations (GLP) and standard operating procedures
• Organizing study related activities and data
• Working in a fast paced, team environment

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in a Life Science discipline (Biology, Wildlife, Pre-veterinary, Zoology, Genetics, Environmental Biology, Animal Science, or related Life Science disciplines) OR Associate degree in Laboratory Animal Technology or Veterinary Technology plus 1 or more years of experience in animal handling, husbandry, clinical support, laboratory animal care, or assisting veterinary staff.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 6 months or more of direct animal care experience in a research lab or farming operation (large or small animals).
• 6 months or more of experience using standard laboratory equipment such as scales, measures, pipetting.
• AALAS Certification

Pay Rate: $23/hr. (includes a 9% shift differential). After initial training period (based on performance) $.50 increase.
