Internship Details
- Duration: 11 weeks, full-time
- Dates of Internship: June 1, 2026 - August 14, 2026
- Location: Spokane, WA
- Hours: Monday-Friday : 10:00am - 6:30pm
- Compensation: Pay Range $17 - 20, relocation assistance available for qualified candidates
- All job offers will be based on a candidate's skills and prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, as well as internal equity and market data.
- Eligibility: Preferred candidates are rising juniors and seniors (Dec 2026 through June 2028 graduation) who are currently enrolled in a relevant degree program; however, all current students pursuing related studies are encouraged to apply.

The lab in Spokane, Washington operates a CAP and CLIA-certified clinical laboratory. Our comprehensive laboratory and testing services coupled with our commitment to excellent customer service ensures that our clients' testing programs operate as efficiently and effectively as possible. Internship Assignment Summary:
Collects, receives and processes all specimens received into the department so that they are ready for analysis. Archives and stores specimens post analysis. Monitors and maintain inventory in laboratory areas.
Technical Responsibilities:
- Centrifuge and receive specimens
- Make any necessary aliquots
- Remove any clots/fibrin from specimens
- Archive and retrieve specimens as needed from storage
- Maintain inventory of laboratory supplies
- Perform centrifuge and refrigerator/freezer maintenance as assigned
- Clean and sanitize workspace and restock supplies daily
- Assist technologists as required
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
- Engage in professional development workshops to enhance your business acumen and professional presence
- Attend training sessions to learn universal tools linked to MySQL database development
Administrative Responsibilities:
- Assist with maintaining and filing lab records.
- Assist with completing pending logs.
EHS Responsibilities:
- Attend all required EHS training
- Wear appropriate PPE as required
- Comply with applicable federal, state, and local regulations, LabCorp policies/procedures and the requirements of accrediting organizations
- Conduct work in a safe and environmentally responsible manner
Education/Qualifications/Skills:
- Working towards bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science (preferred) or biology, biochemistry, microbiology or studying in a program/major that requires a minimum of 48 credit hours of biology and chemistry classes (preferred)
- Expressed desire and interest to work in a laboratory as a technologist after completing an undergraduate degree
- Has experience delivering multiple projects in an academic or professional setting
- Ability to collaborate with various stakeholders and internal/external colleagues
- Embraces diverse ways of thinking through various forms collaboration and partnership
- Must be able to perform work with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in fast paced, high-volume environment and while prioritizing and manage multiple task
- Able to work independently under general supervision
- Expressed desire and interest to work in a laboratory as a technologist after completing an undergraduate degree
Benefits: Employees regularly scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week are eligible for comprehensive benefits including: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, STD/LTD, 401(k), Paid Time Off (PTO) or Flexible Time Off (FTO), Tuition Reimbursement and Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
