Labcorp is seeking a Field Service Engineer/Technical Service Specialist to join our Toxicology Instrument team in Raritan, NJ!

Work Schedule: 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday. Some overtime may be required based on business needs.

Job Responsibilities:

The Field Service Engineer/Technical Service Specialist is responsible for performing preventive maintenance, calibration, troubleshooting, and diagnostic repairs on LC-MS/MS instrumentation and robotic liquid handling systems. The Instrument Specialist works collaboratively within a decentralized team, providing both on-site and remote support to ensure optimal laboratory operations. This role partners closely with laboratory operations, research and development teams, and external vendors to maintain the highest levels of instrument performance and reliability. The position also includes opportunities to participate in process improvement and efficiency projects.

  • Maintain, calibrate, and clean instrumentation; perform scheduled/routine maintenance and critical function checks on the following analytical equipment: Waters Acquity UHPLC systems, Sciex triple quadrupole mass spectrometers, and Hamilton STAR robotic liquid handlers.
  • Diagnose and repair issues occurring in the above listed equipment; recognize significant changes in instrument function; troubleshoot as indicated.
  • Recognize when to contact external service vendors and work collaboratively to resolve issues quickly and efficiently to reduce overall down time of testing and/or instrument production.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation for all laboratory equipment including, but not limited to, maintenance logs and instrument logs.
  • Schedule preventative maintenance and repairs internally and with external service vendors.
  • Consult with laboratory staff to ascertain that equipment functions properly and safely.
  • Demonstrate and explain correct operation of equipment to laboratory personnel
  • Provide troubleshooting assistance to laboratory personnel
  • Document and communicate equipment status to lab supervisors

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of science degree in Chemistry, Biology, Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Engineering.
  • 4 or more years of experience in a laboratory
  • 4 or more years of experience with LC-MS/MS instrumental analysis.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2 or more years of experience with SCIEX Analyst, SCIEX OS, and Waters Acquity software platforms.

Additional Job Standards:

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Working knowledge of analytical instrumentation and the ability to diagnose instrument issues effectively.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.
  • Excellent analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.

Pay Range: $36.00 - $42.00 per hour (USD)

All job offers will be based on a candidate's skills and prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, as well as internal equity and market data.

Benefits: Employees regularly scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week are eligible for comprehensive benefits including: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, STD/LTD, 401(k), Paid Time Off (PTO) or Flexible Time Off (FTO), Tuition Reimbursement and Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Employees regularly scheduled to work less than 20 hours, Casual, Intern, and Temporary employees are only eligible to participate in the 401(k) Plan.
