Labcorp is seeking an Executive Director, Developmental and Reproductive Toxicology (DART) in Indianapolis, Indiana!
Job Responsibilities:
- Provides global scientific leadership for innovation and development of techniques and technology to ensure high standards of scientific rigor and up-to-date methodologies in DART.
- Ensures the delivery of high-quality DART studies on time, meeting all applicable regulations and guidelines.
- Develops an operational plan which identifies the areas that the department will concentrate its research efforts.
- Implements the necessary strategies to drive the operational plan.
- Leads continuous evaluation of the DART business with special attention to expense management, appropriate resourcing and/or consolidation of resources to meet financial goals while delivering for the client.
- Drives cross site harmonization of scientific and operational processes for Global DART team for consistent client experience regardless of site
- Champion and promote the onboarding and/or development of New Approach Methodologies (NAMs) in compliance with regulatory requirements and ICH guidelines.
- Assigns resources (personnel, space, and equipment) as needed to exceed business expectations.
- Oversees the design and maintenance of facilities in full compliance with animal welfare regulations.
- Initiates, plans and implements staff development programs. Develops department capabilities and resources to meet both present and future needs.
- Implements country/state appropriate legal requirements regarding employee communication, recruitment and retention programs within the department.
- May lead marketing development activities in research areas critical to the department.
- Determines and establishes department organizational structure and supervisory relationships.
- Proactively defines and implements programs to ensure department objectives are met in the short and long term. Monitors progress toward meeting departmental goals and objectives and takes required corrective action.
- Provides technical and/or scientific expertise in facility design, animal welfare regulations, technical training or laboratory animal management.
- Works on a wide range of problems where causal relationships are difficult to establish and the use of creative thinking is required.
- Report all animal care concerns and become involved in the resolution and appropriate corrective action, when necessary.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:
- MS degree with 10 years' experience in DART or BS degree plus 15 years' experience In DART
- 15+ years of progressive leadership responsibilities in a pharmaceutical, environmental, CRO or related company/industry
- 10+ years of demonstrated leadership experience, including an ability to motivate and deliver exceptional results through people.
Preferred qualifications:
- PhD Strongly preferred with 5 years of experience
Skills and Competencies:
- Experience in the Life Sciences industry is desirable
- Experience with strategic planning.
- Demonstrated leadership experience, including an ability to motivate and deliver exceptional results through people.
- Accomplishments that reflect teamwork, integrity and accountability. Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment and deliver quality results in a growing organization.
- Process Excellence / process improvement (Six Sigma or similar) experience
- Skilled in performing presentations and leading meetings.
- Skilled in time management, planning and budgeting.
- Skilled in negotiating.
- Ability to work in a laboratory setting with laboratory animals
This senior role provides strategic and scientific leadership for Labcorp's Global Developmental and Reproductive Toxicology (DART) organization, overseeing the design, execution, and innovation of high-quality, compliant studies. As the primary leader and strategy architect for DART, this position maintains direct oversight of DART scientific groups and provides matrix leadership across toxicology functions to ensure consistent, exceptional delivery. Responsible for Test Facility Management, the role drives operational excellence, ensures rigorous adherence to animal welfare standards and AAALAC-related requirements, and fosters an inclusive, collaborative culture centered on continuous improvement and client value.
