Animal Care Technician I

We're seeking Animal Care Technicians to join our team! If you're passionate about animal welfare and eager to start a career in life sciences, this could be the perfect opportunity for you. No experience? No problem-we provide hands-on training to help you succeed.

As an Animal Care Technician, you'll provide essential care and support for research animals. Your responsibilities include:

  • Feed and care for all species within the animal facility.
  • Change soiled cages and bedding; clean and sanitize animal pens and rooms.
  • Operate cage washers and tunnel washers; maintain sanitation records.
  • Remove waste and bedding from animal pans.
  • Document all cleaning and sanitation practices accurately.
  • Observe animals daily for health and report any concerns.
  • Assist with record keeping, inventory, and laundry tasks.

Pay & Schedule:

  • Pay Range: $18/hr.-$19/hr. plus 5% shift differential.
  • Training: 4-6 weeks, 6:30 AM-3:15 PM CST.
  • Full-time day shift: Start between 6:00-8:00 AM; weekends/holidays required.

Requirements:

  • Must be 18+ and able to read/write English.
  • Overtime and weekend work required.
  • Preferred: High school diploma, 6-12 months animal care or related experience.

Benefits: Employees regularly scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week are eligible for comprehensive benefits including: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, STD/LTD, 401(k), Paid Time Off (PTO) or Flexible Time Off (FTO), Tuition Reimbursement and Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
