The Role
As an Application Consultant, you will play a critical role in helping our customers modernize and optimize complex application environments, with a strong emphasis on large‑scale, mission‑critical systems. You will act as a trusted advisor, partnering closely with business and technical stakeholders to understand objectives, assess application needs, and translate requirements into practical, scalable technical solutions.
In this consultative role, you will guide customers through the full application lifecycle-from requirements discovery and solution design through modernization, integration, and deployment-ensuring outcomes align with business goals, technical standards, and long‑term strategy.
What You'll Do
- Act as a trusted advisor by developing a deep understanding of customer business objectives, technical challenges, and long‑term modernization goals
- Lead application assessments supporting new implementations, migrations, and mainframe‑centric modernization initiatives
- Elicit, analyze, and document functional and non‑functional requirements using Business Analysis (BA) best practices (use cases, process flows, and traceability)
- Translate business requirements into solution designs that align application architecture, infrastructure, and enterprise standards
- Partner closely with application architects, developers, and cross‑functional teams to plan and execute application design, implementation, and deployment
- Guide customers in selecting, customizing, and integrating applications, including packaged and SaaS solutions, as part of broader modernization programs
- Advise on compatibility and integration considerations across infrastructure, operating systems, middleware, data conversion, and security
- Support delivery by balancing scope, cost, quality, and timelines while managing technical dependencies
- Help stakeholders assess technical risk and develop mitigation or remediation strategies
- Work in Agile and DevSecOps environments to support modern delivery and operational models

Required Skills and Experience
- Bachelors Degree.
- 10+ years of experience in application development, deployment, and support within enterprise environments
- 10+ years of experience supporting application modernization initiatives, including legacy or mainframe‑based systems
- Strong experience across application architecture, middleware, and data technologies
- Broad technical knowledge spanning:
- Databases and SQL
- Programming fundamentals
- Infrastructure, operating systems, and networking
- Business Intelligence and reporting
- Solid understanding of Agile delivery, service‑oriented architectures, and enterprise integration patterns
- Proven ability to work directly with customers, influence stakeholders, and collaborate across technical and business teams
Preferred Experience
- Experience implementing or supporting enterprise SaaS or packaged applications such as SAP, Oracle Cloud ERP, NetSuite, PeopleSoft, Infor, Unit4, Lawson, or similar platforms
- Experience with application modernization or assessment tools (e.g., CAST)
- Hands‑on exposure to DevSecOps practices
- Experience helping stakeholders quantify risk and implement mitigation strategies

The compensation range for the position in the U.S. is -
$143,640 to $273,000 based on a full-time schedule.
Your actual compensation may vary depending on your geography, job-related skills and experience. For part time roles, the compensation will be adjusted appropriately. The pay or salary range will not be below any applicable state, city or local minimum wage requirement.
There is a different applicable compensation range for the following work locations:
California (San Francisco Bay Area): $172,440 to $327,600
California (All Other): $158,040 to $300,360
Colorado: $143,640 to $273,000
Massachusetts: $143,640 to $300,360
New York City: $172,440 to $327,600
Washington: $158,040 to $300,360
Washington DC: $158,040 to $300,360
This position will be eligible for Kyndryl's discretionary annual bonus program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Kyndryl's applicable plans. You may also receive a comprehensive benefits package which includes medical and dental coverage, disability, retirement benefits, paid leave, and paid time off. Note: If this is a sales commission eligible role, you will be eligible to participate in a sales commission plan in lieu of the annual discretionary bonus program.
