Who We Are

At Kyndryl, we design, build, manage and modernize the mission-critical technology systems that the world depends on every day. So why work at Kyndryl? We are always moving forward - always pushing ourselves to go further in our efforts to build a more equitable, inclusive world for our employees, our customers and our communities.

The Role

Kyndryl is seeking an experienced and strategically minded Lead Financial Statements (FS) Preparer - Statutory Accounting to join our EMEA Statutory Accounting Center in Bratislava.

In this role, you will take ownership of the full statutory reporting lifecycle - from preparation to audit closure - ensuring accuracy, compliance, and excellence across multiple complex entities. You will drive continuous improvement, process optimization, and digital transformation within Kyndryl's statutory environment.

This is a pivotal, high-impact role where you will help shape best practices, mentor less experienced team members, and represent Kyndryl in interactions with external auditors, corporate finance, and local CFO organizations across EMEA.

Who You Are

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end statutory reporting and audit process for high-complexity entities across multiple EMEA jurisdictions.
  • Serve as a technical authority on accounting and disclosure requirements under local GAAP, IFRS, and US GAAP bridges.
  • Partner closely with external auditors, tax, and legal teams to ensure audit readiness, risk mitigation, and full compliance.
  • Provide expert review and quality assurance on financial statements prepared by other team members.
  • Drive standardization, automation, and process improvements across the statutory reporting framework.
  • Support implementation of new accounting standards, global policies, and system initiatives impacting statutory deliverables.
  • Act as a key escalation point for complex audit and accounting topics; provide coaching and guidance to junior and senior preparers.
  • Collaborate with regional and global controllership teams to ensure consistent treatment of significant transactions and events.
  • Maintain a strong control environment and ensure audit documentation and evidence meet internal and external expectations.
  • Contribute thought leadership to statutory process transformation and digital initiatives (e.g., workflow optimization, automation, analytics).

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

  • University degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; advanced professional qualification (ACCA, CPA, or equivalent) required.
  • Minimum 8-10 years of experience in statutory accounting, external audit, or controllership in large multinational organizations.
  • Deep technical expertise in local GAAPs, IFRS, and US GAAP bridging.
  • Proven record of managing complex, multi-country statutory audits and coordinating with Big 4 audit firms.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities; able to interpret and resolve intricate accounting issues.
  • Highly proficient in SAP (or equivalent ERP) and advanced Excel / data analysis tools.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence senior finance and audit partners.
  • Fluent in English; additional European languages (German, French, Spanish, or others) are a strong plus.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior leadership in process transformation, system migration, or automation projects.
  • Experience mentoring or training finance professionals across multiple geographies.
  • Exposure to shared service or center-of-excellence environments supporting multiple entities.
  • Passion for continuous improvement, simplification, and innovation within statutory accounting.
