The Role

Are you ready to dive headfirst into the captivating world of data governance at Kyndryl? As a Data Governance professional, you'll be the visionary behind our data management and governance processes, crafting them into powerful tools for decision-makers. Your role? Ensuring a treasure trove of pristine, harmonized data is at everyone's fingertips.

As a Senior Lead - Data Governance at Kyndryl, you will play a pivotal role in driving key initiatives and leading the following strategic activities:

  • Governance Leadership & Stakeholder Management

    • Lead Data Governance Council meetings and ensure alignment across business units.
    • Act as a trusted advisor for governance strategy and implementation.
    • Engage stakeholders to define governance policies, standards, and operating models.

  • Technical Expertise & Platform Administration

    • Administer and maintain Collibra Data Intelligence Cloud, including workflows and operating models.
    • Develop and customize Collibra workflows using Java and Groovy for automation and process optimization.
    • Manage metadata ingestion through connectors and APIs and ensure integration with enterprise systems.


  • Business Glossary & Metadata Management

    • Oversee creation and maintenance of Business Glossary and Data Standards to ensure consistent terminology across the organization.
    • Implement metadata management practices to improve data discoverability and compliance.


  • Process Improvement & Governance Frameworks

    • Organize architecture review sessions and evaluate change requests.
    • Define and enforce governance standards for data quality, lineage, and stewardship.
    • Provide documentation, FAQs, and Tier 1 support for governance-related queries.

In addition to the technical challenges and stakeholder engagement, you'll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, playing a pivotal role in data governance and metadata management projects and initiatives. Keeping pace with industry trends and advancements in data governance technologies - you'll evaluate and recommend new tools and solutions that keep your organization at the cutting edge of data management and governance.

The salary range for this opportunity starts at 4000 EUR gross per month. The final salary offer reflects the set of skills and experience that selected candidates bring to the team.

Required Skills and Experience

  • 3+ years of experience in Data Governance and Metadata Management.
  • Hands-on experience with Collibra Data Intelligence Cloud or any other data governance tools administration, workflow development, and API integrations.
  • Proficiency in Java, Groovy, REST API, JSON, and XML.
  • Strong understanding of data governance principles, business glossaries management, reference data management and metadata management.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Experience with Metadata and Enterprise Application Management tools like LeanIX, SAP Signavio, IBM Watson Data Catalog, Microsoft Purview
  • Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS), BI tools (Power BI), and relational databases (SAP HANA, Microsoft Synapse SQL Pools,etc. )
  • Experience working with object storage like Microsoft ADLS gen2 and Azure blob, AWS S3 etc,
  • Experience with AI Governance tools, processes and methodologies.
  • Familiarity with ETL tools (Azure Synapse, IBM DataStage, Informatica)
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment
