The Role
Your Role
Bring your specialist knowledge and experience to a company managing 50% of the world's MIPS and play a critical role in our modernization mission. You'll join a global community of experts who share knowledge openly and collaborate freely to shape the future of Java modernization.
In this position, you will design, build, and maintain high-volume business logic while refactoring legacy code to enable seamless integration with modern cloud and mobile applications. Beyond technical execution, you will bring strong leadership skills to guide and mentor an offshore engineering team over the long term.
What You Will Do
- Design, develop, test, and deploy scalable microservices using Java 17+ and Spring Boot 4, following distributed-system best practices.
- Build real-time event-streaming solutions with Apache Kafka, including data consumption, transformation, enrichment, publishing, and change detection.
- Manage MySQL integration and persistence, including query optimization, event updates, and change-data capture/detection patterns.
- Deploy scalable, highly available applications on Microsoft Azure PaaS, implementing resiliency through idempotent processing, retries, fault-tolerant design, and dead-letter topics.
- Ensure delivery excellence through unit, integration, and performance testing, CI/CD collaboration with DevOps, and technical mentoring of offshore development teams.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience Required 10 years+Proven experience delivering complex, scalable, and robust software solutions.
- Strong coding skills in Java, Python, .NET, with excellent debugging and problem-solving abilities.
- Hands-on experience with relational/NoSQL databases, XML/JSON, data mapping, and REST APIs.
- Strong knowledge of microservices, Docker, Kubernetes, messaging queues, OOP, design patterns, and development methodologies.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification in one or more of the hyper-scalers (Azure, AWS, and Google GCP) - otherwise, you can obtain certifications with Kyndryl.
- Experience with DevOps tools and modern engineering practices.
