The Role

As a Senior Experience Strategist, you will lead the creation and implementation of strategic plans to improve user and customer experiences, which includes conducting market analysis, partnering with cross-functional teams, and using human-centered design principles.

As a Senior Experience Strategist your responsibilities include leading research and analysis, creating experience maps and service blueprints, mentoring junior team members, and presenting strategic solutions to senior leadership. This role blends business strategy with a strong focus on design and customer needs.

You will lead organizations through complex challenges by:

  • Discovering opportunities through research and collaboration.
  • Creating clear, actionable roadmaps for experience-led transformation.
  • Guiding teams to deliver practical solutions that make a tangible impact.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Develop and lead strategy:

Create and execute comprehensive strategic plans that align with business objectives, including long-term road mapping and scenario planning.

  • Conduct research and analysis:

Perform market, competitive, and user research to identify trends, opportunities, and potential threats. Use this to inform design decisions and strategies.

  • Design and deliver solutions:

Create strategic deliverables such as experience maps, user journeys, and service blueprints to articulate insights and guide solution development.

  • Collaborate across teams:

Partner with cross-functional teams (e.g., product, engineering, marketing) to ensure strategies are integrated and effectively executed across the organization.

  • Mentor and lead teams:

Guide and mentor junior strategists, providing coaching on design strategy, stakeholder engagement, and best practices.

  • Drive innovation:

Facilitate brainstorming sessions and introduce new ideas and frameworks to foster innovation and experimentation.

  • Communicate and advocate:

Present strategies and solutions clearly to stakeholders and senior leadership. Advocate for a customer-first approach to ensure all experiences are intuitive and meet user needs.

  • Measure and optimize:

Define and track key performance metrics to evaluate the quality and impact of experiences, identifying areas for continuous improvement.

Required skills and experience

  • 3+ years working as professional Experience Strategist or similar field
  • Deep industry vertical experience
  • Experience in both enterprise and agency worlds
  • Knowledge and experience in IT infrastructure or other technical applications
  • Human behavior, change management, or other applied social sciences
  • Data science, AI/ML background

You may also specialize in:

  • Operational Design and Business Processes
  • Brand Strategy

Required Education

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent portfolio

Preferred Education

  • MDM, MDes, MFA, dMBA or equivalent

The compensation range for the position in the U.S. is $88,680 to $168,480 based on a full-time schedule.

Your actual compensation may vary depending on your geography, job-related skills and experience. For part time roles, the compensation will be adjusted appropriately. The pay or salary range will not be below any applicable state, city or local minimum wage requirement.

There is a different applicable compensation range for the following work locations:

California:$97,560 to $202,200

Colorado: $88,680 to $168,480

New York City: $106,440 to $202,200

Washington: $97,560 to $185,280

Washington DC:$97,560 to $185,280

This position will be eligible for Kyndryl's discretionary annual bonus program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Kyndryl's applicable plans. You may also receive a comprehensive benefits package which includes medical and dental coverage, disability, retirement benefits, paid leave, and paid time off. Note: If this is a sales commission eligible role, you will be eligible to participate in a sales commission plan in lieu of the annual discretionary bonus program.
