Infrastructure Specialist at Kyndryl
At Kyndryl, Infrastructure Specialists are project-based experts in all aspects of IT infrastructure. They excel in analysis, documentation, visual diagrams for handovers, timely solution delivery, and the ability to "figure things out no matter what." Your intuitive understanding of how systems interact with their surrounding environments makes your skills incredibly valuable to every client.
This role has two key aspects. The first is contributing to ongoing projects-analyzing issues and technical challenges, proposing solutions, and performing system testing, modification, automation, and integration. The second involves long-term strategic planning and operational execution of IT infrastructure. Since the role is not limited to a specific platform, a broad understanding of various technologies is required. You'll be involved from the early stages of projects, assessing feasibility, identifying technical and scheduling risks, and more. This is a project-based role where you'll be deeply involved throughout the project lifecycle, working closely with architects, technicians, and project managers. Regardless of your current technical level or future career goals, you'll find growth opportunities and supportive colleagues. It's a role where boredom is never part of the job.
Your Future at Kyndryl
In this position, you'll have opportunities to earn various certifications and continuously grow as a cloud hyperscaler. Many Infrastructure Specialists at Kyndryl advance to roles such as Architect or Distinguished Engineer. Growth opportunities are available for all skill levels.
Who You Are
Required Technical and Professional Experience
- Deep expertise in a specific technical domain (e.g., software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics)
- Experience with enterprise IT applications
- Hands-on experience in one or more of the following: software development, DevOps engineering, system administration, or system architecture in public cloud environments (especially AWS)
- Strong knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems
- Proven experience in driving engineering solutions and collaborating across teams
- Solid planning and execution skills, with sound judgment to achieve goals
- Ability to apply general principles to specific challenges and derive conclusions or solutions
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Extensive experience in process improvement
- Fluency in Japanese

Preferred Technical and Professional Experience
- In-depth knowledge of Amazon cloud hosting architecture (experience with AWS and Azure is a plus)
- Strong judgment and decision-making capabilities
- Familiarity with a wide range of IT concepts, practices, and methodologies
- Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles for creating precise technical diagrams, blueprints, schematics, and models
- Logical thinking and reasoning skills to evaluate the pros and cons of alternatives
- High analytical and problem-solving abilities, with strong attention to detail
