SAP PI‑PO / CAR Functional Analyst - AMS Application Support

The Role
Ensure the correct, stable, and timely operation of the integrations managed through SAP PI/PO, as well as the operational and data‑consolidation processes within SAP CAR, including the transfer of information between SAP and external systems, the execution of retail processes (when applicable), and the validation of transactional flows. The role involves functional analysis, incident follow‑up, testing, documentation, and comprehensive support within the AMS operating model.

Main Responsibilities
1) Incident and Request Management (AMS)
- Analyze, diagnose, and resolve functional incidents related to SAP PI/PO, including integration monitoring, review of mappings, adapters, channels, queues, traces, and error logs.
- Address incidents and requests in SAP CAR, validating processes such as POSDTA, TLOG loading, sales, inventory, and data reconciliation.
- Verify the correct flow of information between SAP, PI/PO, CAR, and external systems, identifying deviations and implementing corrective actions.
- Manage tickets according to priority, impact, SLA requirements, and operational guidelines established by the AMS service model.
2) Functional Analysis and Process Validation
- Review and validate functional configurations and parameters in PI/PO and CAR, ensuring alignment with defined business processes.
- Assess data integrity, consistency, and behavior across integrations, validating the logic implemented in mappings, business rules, and transformations.
- Ensure correct end‑to‑end execution of processes dependent on interfaces and data repositories (retail, sales, inventory, POS operations, etc.).
- Document findings, analysis results, applied solutions, and recommendations.
3) Technical Coordination within the SAP Ecosystem
- Collaborate with ABAP, integration, infrastructure, network, DBA teams, and other SAP modules to resolve incidents with cross‑module dependencies.
- Coordinate technical adjustments derived from incidents or change requests (mappings, rules, connections, certificates, connectivity, CAR configurations).
- Ensure the correct implementation of solutions in accordance with AMS governance and established operational standards.
4) Documentation and Operational Compliance
- Maintain up‑to‑date functional documentation, including configurations, test evidence, integration flows, diagrams, critical parameters, and operational guidelines.
- Prepare documentation required for audits, process reviews, or internal control changes.
- Record recurring solutions and best practices to strengthen team knowledge and operational continuity.
5) Support for Testing, Changes, and Releases
- Participate in SIT/UAT functional testing related to PI/PO and CAR, validating fixes, integrations, data loads, and adjustments.
- Validate functional deliverables during release cycles, ensuring operational continuity following changes in integrations or CAR processes.
- Provide support during post‑release stabilization, monitoring integrations, queues, POSDTA loads, TLOGs, and data‑processing flows.
6) Continuous Improvement within the AMS Model
- Identify opportunities to optimize integrations, flows, business rules, and processes related to SAP PI/PO and SAP CAR.
- Propose actions to improve stability, performance, and functional traceability.
- Contribute to initiatives focused on automation, documentation enhancement, and operational efficiency.
Who You Are
Required Technical Knowledge
SAP PI/PO Functional Experience
- Interface monitoring and end‑to‑end operational oversight.
- Graphic and Java‑based mappings, including mapping logic validation.
- Adapter handling (File, JDBC, SOAP, REST, IDoc, RFC, etc.).
- Configuration and troubleshooting of communication channels.
- Management of synchronous and asynchronous messaging scenarios.
- Error detection, trace analysis, and troubleshooting across integration flows.
SAP CAR Functional Experience (ideally in the following areas)
- POSDTA processing and monitoring.
- TLOG loading and transactional data processing.
- Retail processes such as sales, inventory, and movement postings.
- Data reconstruction, reconciliation, and consistency checks.
- Integration with SAP ECC/S4 and external POS systems.
Additional Technical Skills
- Solid understanding of SAP on‑premise and cloud integration concepts.
- Ability to read and interpret logs, analyze data, and validate payloads and message structures (XML/JSON).
- Basic SQL knowledge (preferred).
- Familiarity with ITIL methodologies in AMS environments.

- Clear and effective communication with technical teams and key business users.
- Strong functional analysis capabilities and structured diagnostic skills.
- High attention to detail, disciplined documentation, and organized execution.
- Collaborative mindset with the ability to work across different IT areas.
- Results‑oriented approach and commitment to continuous improvement.
- Ability to manage priorities and handle multiple incidents simultaneously.
Education and Certifications
- Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Preferred: SAP integration‑related certifications or technical training in PI/PO or CAR.
- ITIL certification preferred.
Experience
- Proven experience providing SAP functional support within an AMS model.
- Demonstrable hands‑on experience with SAP PI/PO and SAP CAR. (5 years)
- Knowledge of development and business tools used at Palacio de Hierro
- Participation in integration projects, stabilization efforts, or deployment initiatives.
