The Role

The SAP Functional Analyst joins the Application Management Services (AMS) team with the objective of ensuring operational continuity, functional stability, and the correct execution of business processes related to the SAP PDTA and SAP SD modules. The role focuses on specialized support for incidents, requests, and functional activities that guarantee efficient operations and compliance with corporate IT and business guidelines.

1. Incident and Request Management within the AMS Environment

• Analyze and resolve functional incidents related to SAP PDTA, including data capture, transfer, validation, and operational data processing activities.

• Address requests and resolve issues in SAP SD, ensuring the correct execution of sales processes, orders, deliveries, billing, and pricing determination.

• Verify the proper flow of information between SAP and external systems, identifying deviations and coordinating the necessary corrective actions.

• Manage tickets following the defined priority, impact, and response-time standards of the service model.

2. Functional Analysis and Process Validation

• Review functional configurations in the PDTA and SD modules, ensuring alignment with the business processes defined by the organization.

• Validate data integrity, correct execution of functional logic, and compliance with business rules in processed documents.

• Document findings, deviations, and applied solutions, ensuring operational traceability and consistency.

3. Technical Coordination within the SAP Ecosystem

• Collaborate with technical teams and ABAP developers to manage functional adjustments or corrections derived from incidents.

• Coordinate actions with integration administrators, infrastructure teams, and other SAP module owners when cross-module dependencies exist.

• Follow up on activities resulting from technical-functional analysis until full and effective resolution is achieved.

4. Documentation and Operational Compliance

• Maintain updated functional documentation, including solutions, configurations, operational procedures, and support evidence.

• Prepare required information and supporting materials for internal audits, changes, or IT-driven reviews.

5. Support for Testing, Changes, and Releases

• Participate in functional testing (SIT/UAT) to validate changes, fixes, or new functionalities related to PDTA and SD.

• Validate functional deliverables and coordinate activities associated with deployments to productive environments.

• Provide support during post-release stabilization.

6. Continuous Improvement within the AMS Service Model

• Identify opportunities to optimize functional processes, data flows, or configurations related to PDTA and SD.

• Propose improvements that enhance stability, efficiency, or traceability within the SAP environment.

Required Knowledge and Skills

Functional and Technical Knowledge

• Experience with SAP PDTA, including data flow monitoring and analysis, validation of functional routines, and review of operational processes.

• Experience with SAP SD, covering sales, orders, deliveries, billing, pricing, and related logistics processes.

• Knowledge of integrations between SAP and external platforms.

• Ability to interpret logs, error messages, and data structures.

• Preferred: basic SQL knowledge and familiarity with ITIL methodologies applied in AMS environments.

Skills

• Structured functional analysis.

• Process-oriented diagnostic and problem-solving capabilities.

• Clear communication with both business and technical teams.

• Accurate documentation and disciplined adherence to procedures.

• Strong organization and ability to manage priorities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

• Previous experience providing SAP functional support within an AMS model.

• 5 years of experience with SAP PDTA and SAP SD.

• Knowledge of operational and logistics processes associated with the SD module.

• Basic English proficiency.
