Solution Architect - IT Solutions for the Financial Sector.

We're seeking a senior architect to lead the design of complex, distributed systems in the banking, payments, and financial service domains.

This strategic, client-facing role requires strong experience in multi-vendor service delivery, architecture design, and guiding teams to meet both functional and non-functional requirements.

You'll work closely with business stakeholders to distill requirements into clear, actionable user stories, ensure solutions align with enterprise architecture policies and standards, and drive delivery of robust, scalable systems that meet mission-critical needs.

Who You Are

You're good at what you do and possess the required experience to prove it. However, equally as important - you have a growth mindset; keen to drive your own personal and professional development. Required skills and expertise

• At least 5 years of experience in solution design, having worked in architectural design roles and the ability to model complex IT solutions.
• Ability to engage with stakeholders, combine business and technology needs, simplify complex topics, and clearly articulate value and risks.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work in multidisciplinary teams and lead technical discussions.
• A solution-oriented mindset, actively seeking solutions collaborating with sales and account teams on RFPs, architecture assessments, and solution blueprints.
• Expertise in security and risk management, applying zero-trust principles, encryption standards, and authentication protocols (OAuth 2.0, SAML, FIDO), along with fraud detection mechanisms.
• Strong mentoring presence, calm under pressure, and committed to uplifting Junior Architects and Senior Developers.
• Proficiency in the English language.
• Payments experience.

Preferred skills and expertise

• Good understanding and experience in financial sector systems.
• Strong application development background with in-depth knowledge of software development and best practices.
• Experience designing end-to-end digital banking solutions, including real-time payments, SWIFT, SEPA, and Open Banking APIs.
• Understanding of regulatory compliance, including ISO 20022, PSD2, PCI-DSS, GDPR, SOX, and financial regulations applicable in Finland and the EU.
• Proven track record in cloud modernization projects, including legacy-to-cloud migrations using AWS, Azure, or hybrid models. Familiarity with containerization, microservices, and DevSecOps practices.
• Experience leading architecture for omni-channel platforms, mobile banking, digital onboarding, and embedded finance ecosystems.
• Knowledge of the Finnish language.
