The Role
- Patch Management & Deployment
• Define and implement change management procedures for patch rollouts.
• Publish approved patches into the Patch Management tool.
• Deploy patches to servers or configure scheduled pulls from OEM sources.
• Conduct patch/upgrade/release testing on customer-provided test environments before rolling out to production systems.
• Handle reinstallations due to patch-related incidents or failures.
Incident & Problem Management
• Provide L2-level support for patching and compliance-related issues.
• Prepare Major Incident Reports (MIRs) and contribute to Root Cause Analysis (RCA) with L3/OEM teams.
• Perform incident resolution, request fulfilment, and participate in change management processes (aligned with ITIL framework).
Compliance & Reporting
• Track, analyze, and report compliance posture across systems.
• Escalate repeat patch failures or compliance deviations to L3 teams for permanent resolution.
• Ensure alignment with organizational security and compliance policies.
Tools & Technology
• Work with patch and configuration management tools such as:
o SCCM, Ansible, WSUS, RedHat Satellite, RCP, Azure Update Manager.
• Assist in troubleshooting and optimizing patch deployments using these tools.
System Administration (Intermediate Support)
• Perform Windows and Linux OS administration activities related to patching and compliance.
• Validate system health before and after patching.
• Coordinate with L1 teams for monitoring and L3 teams for escalations.
Who You Are
• 3-5 years of experience in Patch Management / Compliance operations or System Administration.
• Strong hands-on knowledge of Windows and Linux OS administration.
• Experience in enterprise patch management tools (SCCM, WSUS, Ansible, RedHat Satellite, RCP, Azure Update Manager).
• Familiarity with testing, deployment, and rollback procedures for patches and upgrades.
• Knowledge of ITIL processes - Incident, Request, Change Management.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Microsoft (MCSA/MCSE) or Red Hat (RHCSA/RHCE) certifications.
• Experience in automation and scripting (PowerShell, Bash, or Ansible Playbooks).
• Knowledge of compliance frameworks (ISO 27001, NIST, CIS benchmarks).
• Exposure to hybrid cloud patching and compliance environments.
Soft Skills:
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities.
• Good communication and documentation skills.
• Ability to work independently while coordinating with cross-functional teams.
• Customer-oriented mindset with a focus on service quality.
