The Role

Your Role

As a Computer Operator at Kyndryl, you will be on the technical frontline, helping to revolutionize how we operate complex computer systems. You will work with cutting-edge technology to supervise and control intricate networks, applications, and distributed systems in a multi-vendor environment, ensuring the highest level of service delivery for our customers.

What You Will Do

• System Operations & Batch Processing: Operate infrastructure and systems via centralized consoles or remote terminals, process batch jobs, and manage input/output devices (e.g., tape drives, printers) while producing system printouts in a timely manner.

• Monitoring & Alerting: Perform continuous infrastructure monitoring and distribute alerts to responsible support groups.

• Incident Management & Recovery: Execute recovery procedures and system restarts, record equipment problems, place service calls, and drive problem analysis and resolution for incidents affecting operations. Assist support teams in analyzing technical problems, and implement solutions per given instructions.

• Process & Inventory Maintenance: Maintain accurate records of machine performance and production, monitor supply inventory levels, and ensure established procedures are strictly followed.

• Team Collaboration & Guidance: Provide guidance and assist in training less experienced operators, while following directions from seniors, supervisors, and managers.

Required Skills and Experience

• Education & Experience: Diploma or higher in Computer Science, IT, or a related field, with 2-3 years of experience in computer/DC operations or an IT support role.

• Operational Discipline: Strong documentation habits, attention to detail, and shift operations discipline.

• Core Competencies: Solid problem-solving skills and the ability to follow instructions while maintaining established operational standards.

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Industry Background: Prior experience in Banking or Financial system operations.

• Technical Skills: Hands-on experience with troubleshooting, backup/recovery, and basic networking.

• Tool Familiarity: Experience using remote desktop tools, scheduling software (CA Scheduler, Autosys), enterprise utilities (Warehouse Manager), and monitoring systems (SolarWinds, Zabbix, Nagios).
