Key Responsibilities:
- Design and define the architecture of the Internal Developer Platform (IDP), selecting and integrating key tools and technologies such as Kubernetes, Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions, CI/CD tools, Developer Portals, and Platform Orchestrators.
- Build and maintain the core components of a Platform, ensuring reliability, scalability, and performance.
- Define and implement standardized, automated "Golden Paths" or "Paved Roads" for common Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) flows, such as project creation, environment provisioning, deployments, and resource management.
- Drive the automation of complex operational tasks that traditionally burdened developers or operations teams.
- Collaborate closely with development, operations, and security teams to understand their pain points and gather feedback that guides the continuous improvement of the platform.
- Establish and implement governance, security, and compliance policies within the platform, utilizing tools like Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) and policy as code.
- Measure and communicate the impact of the platform on the organization, focusing on reducing cognitive load, improving developer productivity, and operational efficiency (e.g., using reduction in support tickets as a key ROI metric).
- Act as an internal champion for the Platform, promoting its adoption by development teams and providing comprehensive documentation and training.
- Mentor junior engineers within the Platform team, fostering their growth and technical expertise.
- Ensure the sustainability of the platform through effective resource lifecycle management and cost optimization strategies.
Who You Are
Required Skills and Experience
- Demonstrated experience in designing and building software platforms or distributed systems at scale.
- Deep understanding of the Platform Engineering philosophy and its key concepts: Internal Developer Platform (IDP), Developer Experience (DevEx), Golden Paths, Platform as a Product, and cognitive load reduction.
- Solid experience with cloud-native architectures and container orchestration, ideally Kubernetes.
- Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools and practices (e.g., Ansible,Terraform, Crossplane, Pulumi, etc).
- Proven experience with implementing and managing CI/CD pipelines.
- Ability to integrate complex systems and diverse tools seamlessly.
- Strong product mindset with a developer-centric focus.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical teams.
- Experience leading technical initiatives and mentoring other engineers.
- Fluent in English and Spanish.
- Proven experience in web development using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript and modern frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, or Vue.js).

- Knowledge of development tools and technologies like Git, RESTful APIs, and content management systems.
- Familiarity with server-side development t PHP, Python and/or Go.)
- Ability to work independently and as part of an Engineering team.
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Specific experience with Developer Portals (e.g., Backstage, Port, Cortex, OpsLevel).
- Knowledge or experience with workload specification tools (e.g., Score, Kro).
- Experience with Platform Orchestrators
- Familiarity with the Team Topologies model and the platform team role.
- Experience working in highly regulated environments or with strict security/compliance requirements.
- Contributions to relevant open-source projects in the cloud-native or Platform Engineering space.
- Basic hands-on experience with public clouds (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Relevant certifications or current pursuit of certification.
- Interest in observability, security practices, and advanced platform engineering methodologies.
