We are at the heart of progress; with proven expertise and a continuous flow of AI-powered insight, enabling smarter decisions, faster innovation, and a lasting competitive edge. For our people-Kyndryls-that means doing purposeful work that powers human progress. Join us and experience a flexible, supportive environment where your well-being is prioritized and your potential can thrive.

The Role

If you enjoy keeping critical systems running reliably and securely, and you want to do that work at enterprise scale, this role at Kyndryl is for you. You won't just be maintaining servers - you'll support large, complex environments that power essential services for highly regulated organisations. At Kyndryl, your expertise matters, your work has real impact, and you'll be supported with the tools, training, and career paths to keep growing.

What you'll really be doing

In this role, you'll be hands‑on with core infrastructure and trusted to keep it stable, secure, and available:

  • Server and Virtualisation Operations - You'll administer and support enterprise virtualisation platforms such as VMware vSphere and Hyper‑V, along with Linux and Windows servers, ensuring systems are healthy, patched, and performing as expected.
  • Monitoring and Stability - You'll install, manage, and maintain server monitoring tools, perform regular health checks, and respond to issues to minimise downtime across virtual and physical environments.
  • Security, Patching, and Reliability - You'll execute patching and maintenance activities, follow security and compliance standards, and help ensure systems remain secure and reliable in production environments.

Your future at Kyndryl

This role is a strong foundation for long‑term growth. At Kyndryl, you can deepen your expertise as a Senior Systems Administrator, expand into cloud or platform operations, or move toward technical leadership and specialist roles. With ongoing learning, certifications, and exposure to large‑scale environments, you'll have clear opportunities to grow your career in the direction that suits you.

Who You Are

You're good at what you do and possess the required experience to prove it. However, equally as important - you have a growth mindset; keen to drive your own personal and professional development. You are customer-focused - someone who prioritizes customer success in their work. And finally, you're open and borderless - naturally inclusive in how you work with others.

Required Skills and Experience

  • 3-5 years of hands‑on experience in enterprise systems or infrastructure administration
  • Proven experience in enterprise server administration, supporting both Linux and Windows environments
  • Strong hands‑on experience with enterprise virtualisation platforms, such as VMware vSphere and/or Hyper‑V
  • Solid background in server monitoring and patch management across virtual and physical infrastructure
  • Working knowledge of infrastructure operations best practices, including system health checks, stability, and availability
  • Good understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and basic routing
  • Experience operating within secure or regulated environments, following defined standards and procedures
  • Strong problem‑solving skills with the ability to communicate effectively with technical and non‑technical stakeholders

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Experience supporting cloud or hybrid environments, particularly with AWS infrastructure
  • Familiarity with automation or scripting (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, Python) for operational efficiency
  • Exposure to container technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, or ECS
  • Experience with backup, disaster recovery, or high‑availability solutions
  • Relevant technical certifications (e.g., VMware, Microsoft, Red Hat, AWS)
  • Prior experience working in government or highly regulated enterprise environments
