Mainframe USC Support Specialist

We are seeking a Mainframe USC Support Specialist to assist teams and manage critical processes related to USC focal environments. This role requires strong technical expertise in mainframe systems, excellent communication skills, and the ability to handle multiple tasks across different accounts.

What is USC?

USC (Universal Security Control) is an internal mainframe security management tool designed to help organizations maintain compliance and security standards across multiple environments. It provides centralized control and automation for key security processes, ensuring consistency and reliability in large-scale mainframe operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist teams with installing the extractor tool and transferring files to USC focal environments.
• Collect required data for FTP ID requests and permissions.
• Update USC focal files to enable new accounts and customize parameters as needed.
• Run jobs to generate health check reports and send them to security focal points.
• Respond to inquiries in group chats and manage emails in the NAUSCADM mailbox.
• Attend USC-related meetings and collaborate with project managers.
• Perform upgrades and create test instances for USC focal environments.
• Manage ownership transfer of USC-related groups, users, and resources.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Strong knowledge of mainframe environments and related tools.
• Experience working with mainframe systems.
• Proficient in Job Control Language (JCL) for job setup, scheduling, and maintenance.
• Experience reviewing and resolving job abends, including log analysis and rerun strategies.
• Experience with FTP file transfers and parameter customization.
• Ability to handle multiple chats and email communications professionally.
• Fluent in English to lead and participate in meetings.
• Ability to manage multiple accounts and tasks simultaneously.
• Proactive problem‑solving, team collaboration, and adaptability.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

• Experience in mainframe security and compliance.
• Familiarity with USC focal environments and related processes.
• Knowledge of RACF, ACF2, or Top Secret (mainframe security products).
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-account environment.
