The Role

As a Senior Mainframe Storage Specialist, you will provide expert-level support for mainframe operating system platforms and DBDC subsystem programming. You will lead initiatives that optimize, modernize, and secure storage environments, ensuring high availability and resilience for enterprise applications. This role requires deep technical expertise, leadership in problem-solving, and the ability to influence cross-functional teams globally.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver advanced programming support for mainframe operating systems and DBDC subsystems.

• Lead root cause analysis (RCA) discussions and drive resolution for complex storage-related issues.

• Design and implement new system elements, procedures, and processes to enhance storage performance and reliability.

• Guide functional objectives on technologies and advise other professionals across teams.

• Manage and execute storage optimization, recovery, and modernization projects.

• Provide ongoing technical and operational guidance to professional work teams.

• Participate in strategic planning for functional programs impacting customer satisfaction and project costs.

Required Skills & Experience

• 7+ years of experience in mainframe storage management or support, with 5+ years in a senior or lead role.

• Deep expertise in mainframe storage technologies: DASD, tape, DFSMS, DFHSM, DELL PowerMax Storage, IBM VTS

• Proven track record in leading storage optimization and modernization projects.

• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.

• Experience mentoring and developing junior staff.

• English: Advanced (required for documentation, communication with global teams, and vendor interaction).

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.

• Certifications in storage management or mainframe technologies.

• Experience influencing stakeholders outside your immediate function.
