The Role
As a Mainframe Storage Architect at Kyndryl, you'll solve complex problems and identify potential future issues across the spectrum of platforms and services. You'll be at the forefront of new technology and modernization, working with some of our biggest clients - which means some of the biggest in the world.
Infrastructure Architects are the key link between Kyndryl and our clients. You're in a technical leadership role, uniting and guiding stakeholders from clients, governance, and project executives to delivery and sometimes even the vendors who work with the client. You'll be there from the start of a project - understanding what's needed and figuring out the best technical solution. And you'll be there at the finish, delivering the right product on time and within budget.

As an Infrastructure Architect, you'll draw upon the full breadth of your talent and experience. This is a technical leadership role, so we want you to bring your vision, knowledge, and leadership to each project. To the client, you're the subject matter expert - consulting early, gathering inputs, understanding what they need from our solution. You define what Kyndryl can do to meet this solution. You design the best solution for the job. And finally, you're the tech leader for implementation.

You'll also become expert at knowing when and how to call on other SMEs outside your wheelhouse. Thinking your way around pre-existing limitations will grow your creativity and flexibility. Required Skills and Experience
- 10+ Years of Experience in Mainframe Storage Administration
- Storage box data migration (DASD to DASD and Tape to tape) and Storage replication
- Analyze and research options for collaborates with exiting external systems
- Root Cause Analysis preparation and meeting Service level agreement for submission
- Develop, document and maintain procedures for system utilities such as backup/restore, performance tuning and configuration of environments as well as incremental backups as required
- Initialize / add new DASD volumes and Add new tape volumes. Perform the space management activities such as VTOC resizing, Defrag, Compress/Reclaim/Release/Cleaning of datasets
- Manage and Define SMS rules and ACS routines along with reorganization of storage dataset (RMM/HSM CDS & Catalog file)
- Disaster recovery planning and performing the recovery test (Tape recovery / DASD Replication / Tape Replication) and Managing the Copy services / GDPS
- Problem determination and resolution within expected time frame
- Assume personal responsibility for resolving problems in most effective way possible within SLA reaching root cause and preventing problems
- Lead daily Operations meetings provided there are no P1 incidents running Aid with identifying problem management trends
Preferred Technical and Professional Experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field
- SME for MF Storage administration problem determination
- Technical guidance to the team
- Experience supporting high availability infrastructure operations and implementing/improving disaster recovery
- Evaluate and recommend changes to current and future system software requirements to meet the organization's needs
- Excellent troubleshooting and customer service skills
- Troubleshoot Infrastructure and Application issues related to Storage
