The Role
Good experience in installing, configuring, and maintaining an IBM MQ running on z/OS and its associated components using SMP/E
Solid work experience on MQ Upgrades by using SMPE
Solid work experience on MQ Middle and CICS Bridge concepts ( MQ and CICS Integration )
Work experience on MQ Triggering
Working experience on Cluster queue Managers, Queue sharing groups, MQ utilities and Traces
Knowledge about MQ channel encryption and MQ security
Experience in guiding and supporting Application developers to develop messaging flows
Knowledgeable in MQ Performance & Tuning as well as MQ Monitoring
Familiar with Disaster Recovery procedures & tests
Support in-house developed tools including wrapper for the MQI, enhanced CICS trigger monitor and channel security exits.
Good to have knowledge on Advanced Message Security .
Understanding of zOS functions such as: APF, Link list, LPA, VSAM
Good to have knowledge on MQ explorer, Omegamon Monitoring tool for MQ&CICS,ICC,SYSVIEW for MQ&CICS - IBM Products.
CICS architecture and concepts like cics regions AOR TOR FOR
Basic understanding of CICS program,transaction,files etc.
Good to have knowledge on OPSMVS/REXX
Basic Knowledge about CKTI transaction and resource definition in CICS
Excellent Verbal/written communication skills

Required Technical and Professional Experience
• MQ explorer - IBM Product.
Omega Mon Monitoring tool for MQ - IBM Product.
ICC - IBM Control center for MQ - IBM Product.
SYSVIEW for MQ - IBM Product.
MQATTACH - To monitor the MQ MFT transfers - MQATTACH Product.
Mainframe System Knowledge, Basics of Mainframe operations, networking.
Expertise on monitoring tools like IBM Omega Mon, CA Insight, BMC Main view etc.
Responsible for the administration of WebSphere MQ (WMQ) subsystems and associated software on the client's mainframes.
Install, test, configure and implement mainframe WMQ and associated system software while maintaining a stable operating system environment for business applications.
Perform WMQ system backups and recovery.
Monitors system activity for performance and availability and where necessary, tune accordingly.
Perform problem diagnosis and resolution.
Create, maintain, and use automation scripts for MQ for z/OS monitoring, alerting and problem determination and resolution.
Design and Implement security aspects related to MQ.
Architect/Design Clustering, workload balancing in client environment.
Troubleshoot Infrastructure and Application issues related to MQ.
Preferred Technical and Professional Experience
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or relevant.
• Logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
