The Role

As a Mainframe Media Management, you will provide hands-on support for IBM VTS (Virtual Tape Server) environments within enterprise mainframe platforms. You will play a key role in ensuring reliability, integrity, and efficient lifecycle management of mainframe media, supporting critical business operations and compliance requirements.

In this role, you will work closely with global teams to manage tape and media environments across z/OS, z/VM, and zLinux, contribute to incident resolution and root cause analysis, and maintain accurate technical documentation. This position is ideal for professionals looking to deepen their expertise in mainframe media technologies while growing within a collaborative, enterprise-scale environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and support IBM VTS (Virtual Tape Server) environments and related media management tools.
• Perform hands-on administration and operational support across z/OS, z/VM, and zLinux platforms.
• Troubleshoot media-related incidents and contribute to root cause analysis and problem resolution.
• Maintain clear technical documentation and operational procedures in line with enterprise standards.
• Collaborate with global teams to support incident management, audits, and ongoing operational stability.

Required Skills & Experience

• 3+ years of experience in mainframe media management or related mainframe operations roles.
• Hands-on experience with IBM VTS (Virtual Tape Server) technologies and media management tools.
• Working knowledge of z/OS, z/VM, and zLinux environments.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills, with the ability to support production environments.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills, including technical documentation.

Preferred Skills & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Intermediate English Proficiency, required for documentation, global collaboration, and incident reporting.
• Relevant certifications, such as IBM Certified Specialist or other mainframe-related certifications.
• Experience supporting audits, compliance activities, or regulated enterprise environments.
