The Role

Key Responsibilities:

• Act as the SME for Exchange and Entra ID migration projects including Tenant to Tenant and on-prem to M365 Migrations.
• Assess current environments, design migration strategies, and execute migrations of mailboxes, distribution groups, public folders, and calendars to Exchange Online.
• Lead Entra ID migration and restructuring activities, including identity consolidation, domain changes, and hybrid identity configurations.
• Set up and manage tools such as Azure AD Connect, Entra Connect Sync, and Entra Connect Cloud Sync, including custom sync rules and staging mode.
• Configure coexistence and cutover strategies for seamless user experience during migration (e.g., Free/Busy, mail flow, GAL sync).
• Support integration with Microsoft 365 services such as Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive during transitions.
• Provide root cause analysis and remediation for directory sync issues, mail delivery problems, and hybrid identity errors.
• Ensure compliance, security policies, and identity governance rules are maintained throughout the migration process.
• Collaborate with security, network, and support teams and provide technical documentation, migration runbooks, and post-migration support.

Required Qualifications:

• 5+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Exchange (2013/2016/2019) and Exchange Online.
• 3+ years working with Entra ID (formerly Azure AD) and identity synchronization tools (AAD Connect, Cloud Sync).
• Proven track record in executing complex migration projects - including hybrid Exchange setups and tenant-to-tenant moves.
• Strong understanding of SMTP, mail flow, connectors, DNS records (MX, SPF, DKIM), and transport rules.
• Familiarity with PowerShell scripting for Exchange and Entra ID administration.
• Deep understanding of identity models, SSO, federation (ADFS), and authentication protocols (OAuth, SAML, etc.).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Microsoft certifications such as MS-203 (Messaging Administrator), SC-300 (Identity and Access Administrator), or Azure Solutions Architect Expert.
• Experience with migration tools like Quest Migration Manager
• Exposure to Entra ID Governance features like entitlement management, access reviews, and privileged identity management (PIM).
• Experience working in regulated industries or large enterprise environments with hybrid/multi-tenant setups.
