The Role

Join Kyndryl as a L2 Lead Platform Enginee and become a catalyst for innovation and transformation. We're looking for a L2 Lead Platform Engineer who combines strong technical expertise with a warm, supportive leadership style. In this role, you will take ownership of L2 incidents, ensure the stability of our business applications, contribute to our cloud engineering efforts, and help our team grow in both skills and confidence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support and operate public cloud infrastructure, primarily on AWS.
  • Design, manage, and maintain cloud infrastructure components including compute, network, storage, databases, and security.
  • Manage and support middleware components such as NGINX, Kubernetes (K8s) ingress proxy, web servers, and load balancers.
  • Configure, monitor, and analyze cloud monitoring tools and system metrics to ensure platform stability and performance.
  • Manage and support backup and restore processes within the cloud environment.
  • Develop and maintain automation and scripting solutions to improve operational efficiency using tools such as Jenkins, Ansible, Terraform, PowerShell, Python, or Bash.
  • Perform L2-level incident investigation, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including Application, DevOps, Security, and Network teams.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to team members when required.
  • Ensure adherence to organizational standards, policies, and cloud best practices.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of proven experience as a Cloud Engineer or in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of public cloud platforms, especially AWS.
  • Solid understanding of cloud infrastructure components including compute, network, storage, databases, and security practices.
  • Hands-on experience with middleware technologies such as NGINX, Kubernetes ingress proxy, web servers, and load balancers.
  • Familiarity with cloud monitoring tools and the ability to configure, analyze, and interpret metrics.
  • Knowledge of backup and restore processes in a cloud environment.
  • Proficiency in scripting and automation using tools such as Jenkins, Ansible, Terraform, PowerShell, Python, or Bash.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant cloud certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Certified Cloud Engineer, or equivalent.
  • Experience working in enterprise-scale or platform engineering environments.
