The Role

What You Will Do

Cluster Operations & Management

  • Deploy and manage robust, highly available, and scalable Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) environments.
  • Support and optimize shared and multi-tenant cluster architectures, ensuring strict resource isolation and security compliance.
  • Execute seamless cluster lifecycle operations, including version upgrades, node pool scaling, and patch management.
  • Lead troubleshooting efforts and resolve complex operational, networking, and performance issues across the Kubernetes ecosystem.

CI/CD, IaC, & Platform Enhancement

  • Design, build, and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines utilizing Azure DevOps to automate application and infrastructure deployments.
  • Provision and manage cloud resources using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with Terraform and/or Bicep.
  • Collaborate with development teams to contribute to Kubernetes-based application development, defining manifest patterns and Helm charts.
  • Drive platform enhancements to continuously improve system reliability, scalability, and delivery speed.

Monitoring, Security, & Governance

  • Implement and maintain comprehensive monitoring, logging, and alerting systems to ensure deep observability into cluster and application health.
  • Enforce Kubernetes security best practices, including network policies, RBAC, secret management, and vulnerability scanning.
  • Participate in incident management rotations to ensure rapid resolution of production issues and conduct thorough post-incident reviews.

Who You Are

Required Technical Skills & Experience

  • Kubernetes Specialist with 7+ years of experience.
  • Hands-on AKS Expertise: Proven track record of managing enterprise-grade AKS clusters, focusing on networking (Cilium, Azure CNI), scaling, and security.
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Advanced proficiency with Terraform and/or Bicep for provisioning Azure resources.
  • DevOps & Automation: Strong hands-on experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines within Azure DevOps.
  • Observability & Monitoring: Solid experience utilizing monitoring tools (such as Azure Monitor, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, or similar) to set up proactive alerts and dashboards.
  • Multi-Tenant Architecture: Direct experience managing shared/multi-tenant Kubernetes environments, including namespace isolation and resource quotas.
  • Troubleshooting: Strong analytical skills to diagnose complex networking, storage, and application runtime issues within Kubernetes.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) certification.
  • Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD) certification.
  • Relevant Microsoft certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure DevOps Engineer Expert or Azure Solutions Architect Expert).
