The role reports to the Associate General Counsel, Asia Pacific & Middle East Africa, and will be based in Shanghai.

This position serves as a key legal partner to senior business leadership, supporting Kyndryl's operations across China, Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan ("GCG"), with additional regional responsibilities across APAC MEA as required. The role operates at the intersection of commercial strategy, risk management, governance, and emerging technology, including AI‑enabled solutions.

Key Responsibilities

The role provides strategic, commercially focused legal counsel across a broad range of technology services and operational matters within GCG. Responsibilities include leading the negotiation, structuring, and execution of complex commercial transactions, including strategic outsourcing, cloud, software, analytics, artificial intelligence, consulting, partner, supplier, and other technology‑enabled agreements with local and multinational customers and vendors.

As a senior Legal leader, the role serves as a trusted advisor to regional business leadership, providing practical, risk‑based guidance on regulatory, corporate, employment, data protection, compliance, governance, and emerging technology matters, including the responsible development and deployment of AI‑enabled solutions. The role supports the management of sensitive and high‑impact issues, including troubled engagements, government inquiries, investigations, disputes, arbitration, and litigation, and works closely with internal stakeholders and external counsel to drive effective outcomes.

The role also provides leadership within the Greater China Legal team and contributes as a leader and team member to the broader APAC MEA Legal organization. This includes setting priorities, overseeing the delivery of high‑quality legal support, and coaching and developing legal professionals to ensure strong performance, engagement, and succession. The successful candidate is expected to model Kyndryl's values and leadership behaviours, promote a culture of integrity and accountability, and foster collaboration across geographies and functions.

In collaboration with regional and global Law Department colleagues, the role supports Kyndryl's governance framework and helps ensure consistent risk management, policy alignment, and legal oversight across jurisdictions, including with respect to AI governance, data usage, and ethical technology practices.
