The Role
Required Skills and Experience
- • Expertise in data mining, data storage and Extract-Transform-Load (ETL) processes
- • Experience in data pipelines development and tooling, e.g., Glue, Databricks, Synapse, or Dataproc
- • Experience with both relational and NoSQL databases, PostgreSQL, DB2, MongoDB
- • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills
- • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, while maintaining a high level of attention to detail
- • Communication Skills: Must be able to communicate with both technical and non-technical colleagues, to derive technical requirements from business needs and problems

Preferred Skills and Experience
- • Experience working as a Data Engineer and/or in cloud modernization
- • Experience in Data Modelling, to create conceptual model of how data is connected and how it will be used in business processes
- • Professional certification, e.g., Open Certified Technical Specialist with Data Engineering Specialization
- • Cloud platform certification, e.g., AWS Certified Data Analytics - Specialty, Elastic Certified Engineer, Google Cloud Professional Data Engineer, or Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate
- • Understanding of social coding and Integrated Development Environments, e.g., GitHub and Visual Studio
- • Degree in a scientific discipline, such as Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Information Technology

Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior SSIS Developer & Administrator to design, develop, deploy, and manage enterprise-grade ETL solutions using Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS). The role will also be responsible for administration, performance optimization, and ensuring data integration reliability across systems.
Key Responsibilities
SSIS Development
- Design, develop, and maintain SSIS packages for data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL)
- Build scalable data integration workflows across multiple sources (SQL Server, Oracle, flat files, APIs, etc.)
- Implement complex transformations, data cleansing, and business rules
- Develop reusable SSIS components and frameworks
Database & Data Engineering
- Write optimized T-SQL queries, stored procedures, views, and functions
- Design and support data warehouse and dimensional models (Star/Snowflake schemas)
- Work closely with BI teams (Power BI / SSRS)
SSIS Administration
- Deploy, configure, and manage SSIS packages using SSIS Catalog (SSISDB)
- Monitor package execution and troubleshoot failures
- Manage SQL Server Agent jobs and scheduling
- Perform environment migrations (Dev → QA → Prod)
Performance & Optimization
- Tune SSIS packages for performance (parallelism, memory, buffering)
- Identify bottlenecks in ETL pipelines and implement improvements
- Optimize SQL queries and data loads
Data Governance & Quality
- Ensure data quality, integrity, and consistency across systems
- Implement logging, auditing, and error-handling frameworks
- Support data validation and reconciliation processes
Support & Maintenance
- Provide L2/L3 production support for ETL processes
- Troubleshoot data issues and performance degradation
- Maintain documentation for ETL processes and pipelines
Required Skills & Experience
Technical Skills
- 6-10+ years of experience in SSIS development and administration
- Strong expertise in Microsoft SQL Server (2012/2016/2019/2022)
- Proficiency in SSIS, SSMS, SQL Server Agent
- Advanced T-SQL programming skills
- Experience with Data Warehousing concepts (ETL, OLAP, dimensional modeling)
- Hands-on with SSIS performance tuning and troubleshooting
- Experience with Data Migration and Integration projects
Additional Skills (Preferred)
- Experience with Azure Data Factory (ADF) / Azure Data Integration tools
- Knowledge of Power BI / SSRS reporting
- Exposure to DevOps / CI-CD pipelines for SSIS deployments
- Experience using Git or version control systems
- Familiarity with Python / scripting for automation
Soft Skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and lead ETL initiatives
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management
- Ability to mentor junior developers
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science / IT or related field
- Microsoft certifications (preferred):
- Azure Data Engineer / SQL Server certifications
Nice to Have
- Experience in large-scale enterprise data environments
- Exposure to cloud migration projects
- Knowledge of data governance tools
