The Role

The Chief of Staff is the strategic partner and trusted advisor to the Chief Information Officer (CIO), serving as an extension of the CIO to advance the organization's highest priorities. This role works across the CIO organization and the broader enterprise to align leaders, accelerate execution, and enable informed decision-making in support of business outcomes.

The successful candidate combines strong technology business acumen with executive maturity, sound judgment, and exceptional relationship-building skills. They are highly self-directed, comfortable navigating ambiguity, and able to influence across a complex global organization while operating with a high degree of independence, discretion, and accountability.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a strategic advisor and trusted partner to the CIO and CIO Leadership Team.
  • Partner with the CIO to shape strategic priorities, enable executive decision-making, and align leadership on key business objectives.
  • Lead cross-functional strategic initiatives and special projects that advance CIO and enterprise priorities.
  • Drive alignment and accountability across the CIO Leadership Team, proactively identifying risks, dependencies, and opportunities.
  • Represent the CIO in meetings and engagements with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Develop executive presentations, briefing materials, talking points, and strategic communications.
  • Partner closely with Corporate Affairs to prepare for town halls, leadership meetings, internal and external communications, and executive engagements.
  • Partner with the executive administration team to optimize the CIO's operating rhythm and executive priorities.
  • Create and improve operating mechanisms, reporting, and processes that enhance organizational effectiveness.
  • Anticipate priorities, navigate ambiguity, and serve as a trusted sounding board to the CIO by providing objective perspectives, constructively challenging assumptions, and independently driving complex initiatives with limited direction.

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in strategy, consulting, program management, business operations, or a related discipline.
  • Experience supporting C-suite executives or senior leadership teams in a global organization.
  • Demonstrated success leading complex, cross-functional strategic initiatives from concept through execution.
  • Strong technology business acumen, with the ability to understand enterprise technology strategy, financial drivers, organizational priorities, and business outcomes.
  • Demonstrated executive maturity, resilience, and sound judgment, with the ability to operate independently and drive results with limited direction.
  • Exceptional executive communication skills, including executive presentations, strategic messaging, and briefing materials.
  • Proven ability to influence without direct authority and build trusted relationships across multiple organizations and leadership levels.
  • Experience operating in highly confidential environments with integrity and discretion.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, high-expectation environment.
