The Role
Kyndryl is looking to hire a strategic and dynamic Associate Director of Total Rewards Design and Strategy Japan to be part of our Total Rewards Center of Excellence team. The Associate Director will play a pivotal role in evolving our total rewards programs in Japan to ensure we can attract, retain, and inspire top talent in the fast-paced technology industry. This role will be both strategic and hands-on in developing transformative total rewards programs and designing efficient processes to support them. Key responsibilities include:

- Analyze, develop, and implement local total rewards programs and practices that align to business and country strategy, support internal philosophies and improve engagement, attraction and retention of top talent. Focus will be on multiple aspects of total rewards including job architecture, compensation and benefits benchmarking, job evaluation strategies, rewards and recognition programs, incentive plans and pay equity strategy.
- Provide innovative solutions, consulting and thought leadership in the total rewards space by researching and sharing market best practices and emerging global trends ensuring compliance with global pay regulations.
- Work cross functionally to develop analysis, models and metrics that provide business insights, interpret market and/or internal trends and support rewards recommendations across compensation and benefits
- Oversee the design and development of market competitive supplemental benefit programs to complement statutory requirements
- Create communications and resources to drive change and support transparent understanding of program design and processes amongst HR, managers, and Kyndryl employees in-country.
- Act as a strategic business partner in and out of HR, partnering with the business and cross functional leaders (Finance, Legal, IT) to ensure total rewards programs are aligned with business goals and budget, market relevant, and compliant.
- Work closely with the HR Technology Team to deploy design and process changes in Workday, with the goal to simplify and maximize our use of HR technology.
- Support the design, communication and administration of the Kyndryl's short-term cash incentive plan known as the Shared Success Plan.
Who You Are
- A seasoned total rewards or compensation professional who is capable of designing and conceptualizing, as well as direct experience turning ideas into reality.
- 8 - 10 years of experience in total rewards and/or compensation including compensation program design, deployment, job architecture, pay equity, reward and recognition program design, knowledge of HRIS systems and knowledge and understanding of executive compensation elements.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management or a related field or a combination of relevant experience, education and training.
- Excellent project management, analytical, and influencing skills.
- Strong communication skills including writing, powerpoint design, and presenting to a variety of audiences, large and small.
- Advanced excel knowledge, with the capacity to develop complex formulas and models to identify root causes and/or trends. Strong technical background with adequate knowledge of Compensation-specific applications.
- Ability to work with all levels of partners, adapt quickly to changing priorities and business needs, and influence to build consensus.
- Fluent (written and spoken) in English and Japanese
- Have level of understand and knowledge on laws and regulations of Japan
- Preferred work location: Japan
- Able to work autonomously in a matrixed environment.
