JOB DESCRIPTION

Lead experience design efforts for a critical portion of a user's journey by employing advanced design methods and creative problem-solving activities. Partner and collaborate with other product designers, product managers, technical leads and multi-disciplinary teams to understand/identify areas of opportunity driven by online data, usability feedback, market and user research and user-centric design principles. Champion the user by understanding their goals and behaviors, communicating their needs, and creating solutions to meet those needs while balancing desired business outcomes. RESPONSIBILITIES

- Work on product teams focused on making great digital products that delight customers and internal users while driving the business
- Serve as the user experience leader for an assigned product team
- Support and participate in user research activities, including interviews, contextual observation and surveys ; use personas and other data to understand user problems, behaviors and goals; translate user insights into design problems

- Focus on user problems, create journey maps, user flows, service blueprints, UX canvases, wireframes, or other artifacts that identify problems to solve through design
- Lead discovery sessions, create sketches and other brainstorming artifacts to demonstrate divergent thinking
- Create/design prototypes and communicate design decisions and test with users
- Seek feedback on designs through usability testing, surveys, card sorting, and other evaluative research methods to ensure ideas work for users
- Evaluate designs, review existing solutions to ensure they meet design standards and best practices, and make recommendations for improvements
- Understand how design decisions impact the business, and balance user needs with desired business outcomes
- Embrace Agile environment and be an advocate for customers and internal users, providing design solutions based in user-centered design, user research, and analytics
- Apply standards from design systems and/or brand guidelines, and contribute to design systems
- Create detailed artifacts, such as wireframes or storyboards to make sure stakeholders understand the design
- Must be able to perform the essential job functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum
- Bachelor's Degree visual design, human-computer interaction, industrial design or related field; or relevant certification or equivalent work experience
- Any experience on large-scale projects with demonstrated ability to work with multi-disciplinary teams, and to discuss and convey user experience principles and design strategy for stakeholders
- Any experience working in an Agile software development environment
- 2+ years of experience as a UX professional designing web sites, web applications, native mobile apps or software
- Portfolio demonstrating design activities, processes and deliverables.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to discuss and convey design principles and strategy for stakeholders
- Deep understanding of design best practices and the proper context to apply them
- Ability to understand business objectives, direction and needs expressed from multiple inputs ranging from marketing, business and technical teams
- Understanding of technology, and comfortable working within constraints
- Working knowledge of Sketch, Invision, Adobe Illustrator or similar prototyping software
- Familiarity with analytics tools, and how to interpret analytics and apply data insights
