Manufacturing Maintenance Engineer II
JOB DESCRIPTION
Lead the effective execution of all maintenance and assigned work/projects within the plant, including external properties, with a focus on optimizing all maintenance functions, including predictive preventive maintenance (PPM), spare parts, scheduling and performance. Perform all jobs safely, efficiently and accurately to maintain and improve the performance of the entire plant in the areas of Safety, Quality, Reliability (SQR). Provide leadership that embodies our 7 Kroger Manufacturing High Performance Work System principles. RESPONSIBILITIES
- Optimize the scope and timeline for equipment overhauls
- Develop execution plans, manpower and schedules for overhauls and shutdown activities without supervision
- Lead interactions with planning/scheduling, inventory control and maintenance purchasing teams on requirements for overhauls, repairs and small capital projects
- Analyze current Preventive Maintenance (PM) program condition and understand/prioritize gaps
- Manage the PM program for all equipment, building and facilities through the Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
- Oversee PM review process of critical assets utilizing required tools and understanding return on investment (ROI) of changes
- Utilize AutoCAD software to analyze Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID's), Process Flow Diagrams and equipment/utility/facility layouts
- Maintain equipment and facility documentation/drawings
- Assist Senior Engineering Leader in development, control and tracking of maintenance budget
- Develop, manage and execute small capital projects with excellence delivering documented improvements in a unit of operation performance
- Lead troubleshooting activities for the technical team
- Oversee the parts room to ensure adherence to company policies, availability of necessary parts, elimination of obsolete materials and adjustments
- Perform an entire inventory optimization cycle of the storeroom
- Manage the reliability-based Root Cause Analysis (RCA) process ensuring robustness of the system and that root causes are driving results and are being controlled; ensure documentation is done and actions are tracked
- Utilize Kroger Down Time (KDT) and one click to understand current reliability failures without supervision and prioritize improvement initiatives
- Drive and document Improvements in Reliability initiatives of an entire production line
- Lead a reliability driven Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control (DMAIC) Kaizen process
- Analyze and drive improvements of maintenance key performance indicator metrics and develop improvement action plans
- Manage predictive maintenance program execution; ensure program compliance and quantify ROI of program
- Act as Department Lead in Operational Key Element Analysis (OKEA) audits, demonstrate improvements in maintenance systems and metrics
- Oversee maintenance department training development plan
- Ability to work cooperatively in high paced and sometimes stressful environment
- Ability to manage conflict in a reasonable, nonconfrontational and cooperative manner
- Ability to act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
- Ability to follow directions and seek assistance when necessary to resolve customer and business issues
- Provide support and assistance through direct interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and/or older adults
- Supervise and coach direct reports in the performance of their duties; complete performance reviews and provide feedback to direct reports

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, or related engineering or equivalent technical manufacturing experience
- 2+ years of supervisory experience with direct reports
- 2+ years of maintenance engineer experience
- Demonstrated leadership skills within a technical team
- Good organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
- Completion of entire Maintenance Excellence training curriculum
- Green Belt Certification
- RCA training or equivalent
- Led multiple reliability-based RCAs with a cross functional team
- Experience providing troubleshooting support and expertise in the operation/maintenance of food processing and utilities systems
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Visio and Microsoft Projects
- Knowledge of AutoCAD software
- Proficient in planning, scheduling, work order, inventory control, and purchasing functions of CMMS system
- Capability of analyzing and modifying process flow diagrams and facility drawings
- Experience with DMAIC Kaizen process
Desired
- 5+ years of technical experience in the food industry dealing with preventive and predictive maintenance
- Experience in process continuous improvement
- Plant maintenance supervisor
- Production planner or scheduler experience
- Proficient in AutoCAD or other 3D modeling software
- Proficient in problem solving methodology
- Exposure to predictive maintenance programs
