CHEF'S CHOICE CATERING EVENT COORDINATOR

JOB DESCRIPTION

Supervise catering servers and all contract labor for events. Serve as the main contact on site for the clients, ensuring that all expectations are met and/or exceeded. Set up and service off premise catering events. Orchestrate daily operation of warehouse, including coordination of incoming and outgoing deliveries, delivery of food and/or equipment, dishwashing and organization of all catering supplies within the warehouse. Demonstrate the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervise/manage all catering servers and contract labor on site at the events, ensuring that they are following proper service techniques
  • Delegate all necessary job tasks to catering servers and contract labor while at the event to make sure everything is set up in accordance with industry standards, and that the event runs on time
  • Serve as the main contact for the clients on site at events, making sure that all of their needs are met and managed
  • Ensure that any & all food & beverage items are presented and served correctly, adhering to the standards set by Chef's Choice Catering
  • Serve clients in a courteous, professional and respectful manner in accordance with Chef's Choice Catering's customer service policy
  • Ensure that all equipment is returned to the commissary and that the room/area at the event is left clean and tidy
  • Prepare the area or room in its entirety for a function or event, prior to the guest's arrival
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or requested by supervisors/managers
  • Ability to drive catering vans to and from events with a valid driver's license
  • Ability to work with logistics, including picking, packing and distribution of all durable goods related to catering events
  • Help with set ups and break downs, and service of off-premise catered events, including unloading vans, dishwashing and restocking items to the warehouse shelves
  • Maintain a clean and organized warehouse, reporting any deficiencies to management
  • Properly store and organize all incoming orders and supply deliveries
  • Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation


QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Valid driver's license with the ability to travel independently
  • Previous serving experience in banquets/catering or restaurant
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to thrive in a team environment
  • Must feel comfortable and able to drive a full size delivery van
  • Excellent organizational skills

Desired
  • 2 years of experience as a banquet/catering server
  • Proven experience as an event lead or banquet captain
