Director, Technical Education
Overview
The Director, Technical Education provides strategic leadership to ensure world-class technical training in support of Konica Minolta products and technologies. This role oversees the planning, development, and delivery of comprehensive technical education programs that enable employees, partners, and stakeholders to successfully support and service Konica Minolta solutions.
This position is responsible for defining the vision and direction of the Technical Education organization, ensuring training staff, systems, and facilities are fully aligned with current and future business needs. The Director collaborates closely with Konica Minolta Inc., Japan, and other global KM Sales companies to develop, share, and standardize technical training curricula, documentation, and best practices across regions.
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic vision, leadership, and direction for the Technical Education team to ensure high-quality, consistent, and effective technical training programs.
- Oversee the planning, design, development, and maintenance of technical training content covering Konica Minolta products, accessories, and peripherals.
- Lead the management of technical training facilities, ensuring they are properly equipped, maintained, and optimized to support hands-on product training.
- Ensure the availability and effectiveness of systems used for training scheduling, course registration, and tracking of registrations, completions, and certifications.
- Partner with Konica Minolta Inc., Japan, to co-develop technical curricula and ensure alignment with global product strategies.
- Coordinate and share KMBS USA training programs and documentation with other Konica Minolta Sales companies.
- Ensure technical trainers are well-prepared, technically proficient, and equipped with effective instructional methods to deliver high-impact training.
- Develop team goals, business plans, and initiatives that align with and support broader corporate objectives.
- Drive continuous improvement and innovation in training delivery methods, tools, and content.
- Lead, coach, mentor, and develop Technical Education staff to strengthen technical expertise, leadership capabilities, and instructional effectiveness.
- Anticipate and respond to evolving business needs, technology changes, and product advancements by adapting training strategies accordingly.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in an associated field or 7+ years of experience leading training teams. (Master's degree a plus)
- Minimum of 5 years facilitating or developing technical training courses.
- Certification as a Technical Facilitation or Content Development Specialist.

- Demonstrated expertise in managing and developing high-performing teams.
- Proven ability to identify complex business challenges and implement effective, practical solutions.
- Strong leadership capabilities with the ability to coach and develop staff in team management, communication, and leadership skills.

- Demonstrated success in developing team goals and business plans that support corporate initiatives.
