I-9 Compliance and Support Coordinator - Fully Remote!

As the I-9 Compliance & Support Coordinator, you are responsible for ensuring organizational compliance with federal employment eligibility requirements, including Form I-9 processing and audit readiness. You'll serve as a key resource for employees, hiring managers, and HR partners by providing guidance, resolving issues, and delivering a high-quality support experience throughout the onboarding and employment verification process.
Responsibilities:
- Lead end-to-end Form I-9 processing, including Section 1 and Section 2 completion, reverifications, and corrections.
- Maintain compliance with all applicable regulations (e.g., DHS and USCIS requirements). Track deadlines and maintain accurate, up-to-date records in HR systems.
- Conduct regular internal audits and support external audits as needed. Identify and resolve discrepancies in employment eligibility documentation.
- Serve as a main point of contact for employees and hiring managers regarding I-9 and onboarding questions. Provide clear guidance on acceptable documentation and compliance requirements.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to onboarding, verification delays, and system errors.
- Understand trends and recommend process improvements to enhance compliance and efficiency. Help maintain documentation, SOPs, and training materials.
- Generate reports and track key metrics related to I-9 completion and compliance.
- Educate employees and managers on I-9 requirements and best practices. Support training sessions and onboarding programs as needed.

Qualifications:
- 2-4 years of experience in HR operations, onboarding, compliance, or a related field
- Strong knowledge of Form I-9 requirements and employment eligibility verification processes
- High attention to detail and ability to manage sensitive, confidential information
- Customer service focus with strong problem-solving and organizational skills
- Experience with electronic I-9 systems (e.g., E-Verify, Workday, iCIMS, or similar platforms), audits or compliance reviews, and familiarity with E-Verify processes preferred
