The Credentialing Manager owns the strategy, implementation, and compliance for all teacher credentialing pathways, including the Child Development Associate (CDA) and college degree advancement for early childhood educators (or school age educators when applicable). This role manages a team of Credentialing Specialists; oversees partnerships with higher education institutions, scholarship programs, and credentialing bodies; ensures data accuracy and compliance; and drives continuous improvement to expand and streamline educator access to credentials.

The ideal leader has deep experience in ECE workforce development, excellent relationship-building skills, strong operational oversight, and a passion for increasing equitable career pathways for early childhood professionals.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead all aspects of the delivery, quality, and consistency of credential advising and CDA support services across the team, supervising and developing Credentialing Specialists and support staff.
  • Establish team goals, caseload standards, quality expectations, and performance metrics, while encouraging a collaborative, learner-centered, service-oriented team culture.
  • Develop, implement, and refine credentialing workflows and systems supporting CDA, college degrees (AA/BA), and state-recognized ECE credentials.
  • Build and maintain processes, tools, templates, and training that improve completion rates and enable leaders to effectively support educators pursuing credential and degree pathways.
  • Maintain expertise in CDA requirements, higher education pathways, scholarship models (e.g., T.E.A.C.H.), and relevant state credential frameworks.
  • Ensure credentialing processes align with state licensing rules, CDA Council requirements, higher education standards, FERPA, and internal policies.
  • Lead reporting and analysis of credentialing pipeline metrics and program targets, identifying system-level barriers and producing insights and recommendations for leadership.
  • Partner with HR, government affairs, operations, and research teams on credential audits, workforce strategy, and educator progress tracking.
  • Represent the organization in workforce councils, advisory groups, accreditation committees, and ECE system meetings as required.
  • Develop mentorship, training, and communication tools for field leaders on credential requirements, timelines, and educator progression, while supervising workshops and supports for educators pursuing credentials.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Education, Human Services, or a related field required. Master's degree preferred.
  • 4+ years of experience in ECE workforce development, credentialing, higher education advising, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience supervising staff or leading teams.
  • Strong understanding of CDA processes, college admissions/registrar systems, financial aid basics, and ECE career pathways.
  • Experience managing partnerships with colleges, state agencies, registries, or credentialing bodies.
  • High proficiency with Microsoft 365 and case management, CRM, or data-tracking systems.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
