The Agile Delivery Lead II (ADL II) is a senior-level individual contributor responsible for enabling predictable, balanced, and outcome-focused results across one or more product teams.
This role strengthens Agile maturity, improves delivery flow using data, and partners closely with Product and Engineering leaders to align quarterly commitments and PI objectives.
This role as ADL II functions as a neutral facilitator and delivery partner. This role does not own scope, prioritization, budget, or performance management responsibilities. Instead, this role at the ADL II level enables clarity, transparency, planning rigor, and continuous improvement across the Discovery → Delivery lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Enable High-Performing Agile Teams: Facilitate all core Agile ceremonies (Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Reviews, Retrospectives, PI Planning). Partner with Product Owners and Engineering Leads to maintain a continuously refined backlog. Ensure at least two Sprints of "Definition of Ready" backlog. Support realistic capacity planning and aligned Sprint goals. Adapt facilitation approach based on team maturity and delivery model.
- Improve Predictability and Flow: Supervise and interpret delivery metrics. Identify systemic bottlenecks and recurring friction patterns. Act as first responder to impediments and coordinate resolution. Distinguish between team-level and organizational/systemic issues. Escalate risks appropriately with data-backed context.
- Drive Metrics Transparency: Build and maintain transparent team dashboards. Ensure dashboards are updated within 24 hours of Sprint close. Facilitate data-focused retrospectives and Inspect & Adapt sessions. Connect team-level delivery metrics to quarterly goals and achievements and PI commitments. Use metrics to inform improvement, not to judge or compare teams.
- Support PI Planning and Quarterly Alignment: Prepare teams for PI Planning. Facilitate team participation in PI events. Ensure cross-team dependencies are logged and assigned owners. Support accurate PI Commitment Status tracking. Drive disciplined post-PI execution follow-through.
- Coach for Team Maturity: Coach teams on Agile principles and Lean thinking. Promote sustainable pace and pull-based work systems. Champion psychological safety and constructive feedback loops. Support growth from reactive execution to disciplined planning.
- Strengthen Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with Product and Engineering leaders. Surface delivery risks within one business day. Act as liaison across teams. Maintain transparency on scope shifts, carryover, and risk.
- Contribute to Organizational Improvement: Contribute to Agile Community of Practice efforts. Support evolution of frameworks and dashboards. Share cross-team insights and improvement patterns.
