Vice President, Business Validation Lead - Open Banking

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to join our Open Banking Strategic Business Unit (SBU) as a Business Validation Vice President. This role offers the opportunity to shape operational excellence and risk management of a new, rapidly growing, revenue-generating business, working closely with senior leaders and cross-functional teams to ensure the highest standards of compliance, transparency, and client service.

As the Vice President, Business Validation Lead within Open Banking, you will play a pivotal role in validating the effectiveness of our 24/7 operations, technical processes, and business controls. You will ensure Chase's adherence to customer disclosures and oversee client compliance with contractual obligations, including independent reviews and third-party risk management (TPRM). Your expertise will be critical in validating billing execution and maintaining robust business controls, thereby supporting the growth and integrity of our Open Banking platform. Your work will help safeguard customer interests, support commercial objectives, and foster a culture of continuous improvement across our rapidly growing business, while shaping the future of our Open Banking platform through your strategic vision and influence.

The Chase Open Banking team is committed to empowering customers to share their financial data securely, safely, and transparently within the open banking ecosystem. Our mission is to deliver market-leading platforms that enable aggregators and direct connectors to securely access customer-permissioned data, while building out a two-sided business model that benefits both customers and commercial partners. We collaborate closely with partners across billing, invoicing, and are developing a self-service developer portal to streamline integration and access. We support our customers' ability to access their financial data and have full control and visibility in sharing it securely with the apps and companies they choose.

Job Responsibilities

  • Support the development and implementation of strategic initiatives for the Open Banking team, including platform enhancements and new business models.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product, technology, compliance, risk to ensure alignment and successful delivery of open banking solutions.
  • Contribute to the design and execution of processes for secure, customer-permissioned data sharing, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Participate in market research and analysis to identify emerging trends, opportunities, and potential risks within the open banking ecosystem.
  • Validate the effectiveness and resilience of 24/7 operations and technical processes, ensuring seamless service delivery for clients and customers.
  • Oversee Chase's adherence to customer disclosure requirements, maintaining transparency and compliance across all Open Banking activities.
  • Monitor client adherence to contractual obligations, including conducting independent reviews and supporting third-party risk management (TPRM) processes.
  • Lead the validation of billing execution, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and alignment with contractual terms.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain robust business controls to mitigate operational, regulatory, and reputational risks.
  • Provide data-driven insights and recommendations to senior leadership, influencing strategic and operational decisions.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, engagement, and high performance within the business validation team while promoting diversity and inclusion by valuing the unique capabilities.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • 7+ years of experience in financial services, with a proven track record in business validation (product/technology), risk management, controls and operational leadership.
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Deep understanding of Open Banking, data access, and related regulatory and industry frameworks.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and execute operational strategies in a complex, matrixed environment within a technology-driven product organization.
  • Experience in client and contract management, including independent review and third-party risk management.
  • Proven ability to drive compliance with customer disclosures and contractual obligations.
  • Experience in managing teams, being a strong culture carrier and driving organizational change.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Collaborative mindset with strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Exceptional organizational, multitasking, and prioritizing abilities
  • High attention to detail; ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Experience with Agile methodologies and innovation in financial services is preferred.
