U.S. Private Bank - Business Development Manager - Vice President or Executive Director
We are seeking a highly collaborative and commercially minded leader to help scale business development across Diverse Wealth Strategies (DWS) within J.P. Morgan's U.S. Private Bank. The Business Development Manager will partner with business leaders, advisors, and key stakeholders across the Private Bank to ensure opportunities generated through strategic partnerships, sponsorships, client engagement, and targeted business development efforts translate into meaningful client and business outcomes.
As a Business Development Manager, you will serve as a strategic partner to the Head of Diverse Wealth Strategies, helping translate the team's national growth strategy into measurable business results. You will work closely with advisors, market leaders and internal and external partners to advance client opportunities, manage strategic partnerships and sponsorships, and drive a consistent approach to business development across six wealth strategies. You will utilize strong commercial judgment and relationship management skills to independently manage complex projects involving multiple stakeholders.
Job Responsibilities
- Partner with business leaders, advisors and key stakeholders across the Private Bank to execute business development efforts across six wealth strategies, with a focus on client acquisition and measurable business outcomes.
- Drive a disciplined approach to lead generation by identifying, tracking and advancing opportunities generated through client events, sponsorships, strategic partnerships and advisor engagement, ensuring consistent follow-through with bankers.
- Coordinate targeted client and prospect engagement, partnering with advisors and market managers to identify opportunities, facilitate introductions and advance prospective relationships.
- Manage the execution of national and multi-market sponsorships and strategic partnerships, including negotiating sponsorship agreements, coordinating contract reviews with Legal and Procurement, managing senior external partner relationships and ensuring commitments are delivered.
- Maximize the business development value of sponsorships and partnerships by coordinating client and prospect participation, developing follow-up plans and evaluating lead generation, client acquisition and return on investment.
- Establish consistent processes for managing business development opportunities across the six strategies, including maintaining pipeline visibility, tracking progress and providing reporting to support accountability and business results.
- Collaborate with partners across the U.S. Private Bank and other lines of business to coordinate client engagement, strengthen referral opportunities and support the execution of cross-business efforts.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent years of relevant work experience
- Project management experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Strong attention to detail and organization skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong presentation and analytical skills
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
- Self-motivated, tenacious and able to work with high degree of independence
- Strong time management and prioritization skills
- Well-versed in strategy development or previous experience with consulting firm
- Experienced in developing executive level reports, presentations, and documentation
- Financial services background, preferred experience with Wealth Management
