Underwriting Supervisor - CORRESPONDENT AGENCY MANILA

As a Correspondent CCR UW Supervisor within the Correspondent Agency Manila team, you will manage, coordinate, and direct the daily operations of a CCR team. You will assign work and set workflow priorities, tracking your unit's performance and monitoring daily business. You will handle exception items, resolve complex issues and document and introduce new procedures to your staff. In this position, you will also recommend human resources actions (hiring, terminations, salary actions, and promotions). You will be responsible for managing the performance of your team by regular and consistent coaching, interim and annual reviews as well as corrective action planning and follow-up.
Job Responsibilities:
- Assign work and set workflow priorities while monitoring daily business
- Track Team's performance and provide consistent feedback to facilitate staff development
- Prepare periodic reports to management
- Handle exception items and resolve complex issues
- Document and introduce new procedures to your staff
- Review and recommend system modifications for processing business
- Serve as Point of contact between Funding Operations and Customer Account Managers/Correspondents.
- Facilitate the funding process by proactively managing an assigned pipeline.
- Perform the required data entry into origination systems around the receipt and status of mortgage documents.
- Identify trends and make recommendations on how to reduce suspense rate and overall funding turn time.
- Discuss process changes with internal and external partners as it relates to file delivery, funding, UW, and suspense
Required Qualifications, Skills, and Capabilities:
- Minimum of 3 years of mortgage underwriting experience, or 10 years of combined mortgage underwriting/operational experience in the mortgage industry.
- Proficient knowledge of various mortgage products, including both Agency and Non-Agency.
- Experience in both automated underwriting systems (AUS) and manual underwriting.
- Demonstrated expertise in GSE lending guidelines.
- Thorough understanding of complex personal and business financial analysis, including cash flow, balance sheet, and corporate tax return analysis.
- Proven analytical and decision-making skills.
- College degree or equivalent education.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Strong time management skills and results-oriented approach.
- Client-focused mindset with a strong sense of urgency and negotiation skills.
- Excellent comprehension and communication skills, both written and verbal, with adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
