As a Software Engineer III at JPMorganChase within the Consumer and Community Banking, Authentication Team, you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm's business objectives.
Job responsibilities
- Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
- Creates secure and high-quality production code and maintains algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems
- Produces architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while being accountable for ensuring design constraints are met by software code development
- Gathers, analyzes, synthesizes, and develops visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets in service of continuous improvement of software applications and systems
- Proactively identifies hidden problems and patterns in data and uses these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture
- Contributes to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologies

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience
- Strong coding skills in React and TypeScript, with a focus on building responsive and user-friendly interfaces. Familiarity with state management libraries (e.g., Redux, Context API, Zustand)
- Build responsive and adaptive web applications with HTML5, CSS3, and preprocessors (SASS/LESS)
- Collaborate using modern build tools (Webpack, Babel, npm/yarn) and version control systems (Git)
- Write unit and integration tests (Jest, React Testing Library)
- Maintain code quality using tools like ESLint and Prettier
- Solid understanding of user interface design principles and best practices, ensuring a seamless user experience during login, authentication, and password management processes.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), with a focus on front-end development processes
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including UX designers and backend developers, to deliver high-quality UI solutions that enhance user authentication experiences
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Strong proficiency in JavaScript (ES6+)
- Familiarity with component-based architecture
- Knowledge of responsive design and accessibility best practices
- Exposure to cloud technologies (AWS) is a plus
