Technology and Cyber EMEA Outsourcing Risk - Vice President

As a Vice President Technology and Cyber Outsourcing Risk in the EMEA Compliance, Conduct and Operational Risk team, you will be proactively overseeing the complex risks associated with outsourcing and help design and implement the EMEA 2nd Line of Defence independent risk management program. You will collaborate with global and regional teams, engage in legal entity and firmwide initiatives, and contribute to a culture of innovation, inclusion, and best-in-class risk management.

Job Responsibilities

  • Champion the development and execution of forward-thinking operational risk management practices for Outsourcing across Business and Technology functions in EMEA.
  • Leverage cutting-edge data analytics, automation, and technology solutions to identify, assess, and mitigate risks more effectively and efficiently.
  • Partner with local and global CCOR teams, Line of Business, and Corporate Function teams to evaluate and challenge Outsourcing risks, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and insightful risk dialogue.
  • Provide 2nd Line of Defence challenge and oversight to 1st Line governance teams, including review and challenge of risk assessments, controls, and metrics prior to board-level presentation.
  • Apply innovative analytical techniques to uncover emerging risks and recommend robust mitigation strategies.
  • Perform reviews and assessments of operational risks, utilizing advanced data analytics and visualization tools to identify trends, outliers, and underlying drivers.
  • Support the firm-wide and relevant Legal Entity Qualitative Operational Risk Appetite process with insightful analysis and recommendations.
  • Lead reviews of significant events over defined thresholds, including examination of event resolution, metrics, escalations, and reporting, with comparison against independent assessment results. Use lessons learned and read across to drive innovative improvements in risk management practices.
  • Stay abreast of industry news, regulatory developments, and emerging technologies to proactively identify and mitigate risks. Provide insightful advice to the business on the impact of new regulations and technology trends.
  • Drive the adoption of modern, data-driven methods for risk oversight, including automation and advanced analytics, to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of risk management processes.

Required qualifications, skills, and capabilities

  • Experience in technology, cybersecurity, outsourcing, governance, operational risk, or technology compliance within financial services or a related technology sector.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply innovative and insightful approaches to risk identification, assessment, and mitigation.
  • Familiarity with EMEA technology regulations (e.g., DORA, PRA Critical Third Party Regime, EU AI Act, NIS) and understanding of regulatory frameworks.
  • Ability to understand technical systems and business processes, synthesize associated risks and controls, and recommend effective mitigation actions.
  • Proven organizational, project management, data analysis, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage expectations and deliver results with professionalism, self-motivation, and integrity.

Preferred qualifications, skills, and capabilities

  • Relevant professional experience in risk management, compliance, or technology-related fields.
  • Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISA, CISM, CRISC, CCSP, or equivalent.
  • Experience with innovative and automation technologies and supporting toolsets (e.g., Alteryx, LLM, Tableau).
  • Experience implementing data-driven and analytical techniques for risk oversight.
