Technical Implementation Manager Vice President

As a Technical Implementations Vice President within Client Onboarding & Service, you will serve as a subject matter expert on the Stratus or Tandem payment platform and guide complex client integrations from certification through go-live. You'll work directly with a portfolio of strategic, high-revenue merchants and collaborate closely with internal partners to deliver a streamlined experience and high client satisfaction. You'll join a newly formed team where processes and measures are evolving-bringing structure, clear communication, and a focus on outcomes to help shape how we support top-tier clients.

Job responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end client integration certification and testing activities for your assigned portfolio
  • Advise clients on technical integration approaches, requirements, and readiness milestones
  • Translate complex client requirements into clear plans, actions, and follow-ups across stakeholders
  • Coordinate with internal partners to resolve technical issues and unblock progress quickly
  • Track risks, issues, and dependencies, and communicate status with clarity and accuracy
  • Manage multiple high-priority workstreams with prompt turnaround times and strong attention to detail
  • Maintain strong client relationships through proactive engagement and reliable delivery
  • Facilitate discussions with senior client and internal stakeholders, including de-escalation when needed
  • Support scheduled go-live activities, including occasional work outside standard business hours
  • Assist clients after hours during go-live-related emergencies tied to certification and testing
  • Contribute to special projects and help evolve team workflows, measures, and operating practices

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • 5+ years of experience in the payments industry
  • Expertise in the Stratus or Tandem payment platform
  • Experience leading client certification processes and/or complex client integration projects
  • Strong understanding of payment network connectivity and related protocols
  • Demonstrated ability to take ownership and drive issues to resolution
  • Strong technical consulting, troubleshooting, and analytical problem-solving skills
  • Ability to understand and document complex technical requirements and specifications
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with professional presence in client-facing settings
  • Ability to manage escalations with urgency, empathy, and composure
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional partners and senior stakeholders

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Gateway platform knowledge in addition to Stratus or Tandem and experience with EMV certification (or demonstrated ability to learn it quickly)
  • Experience certifying on core transaction processing and gateway platforms (e.g., Stratus, Tandem, Orbital Gateway)
  • Formal project management training or practical application of project management concepts
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • Advanced understanding of networking and connectivity protocols
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Visio, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Demonstrated ability to identify opportunities for AI and automation integration within operational workflows, including experience evaluating, implementing, or governing AI-driven solutions to achieve scalable process improvements and strategic objectives
