As a Technical Implementations Team Lead (Technical Implementations Manager II) in Technical Implementations, you lead a team of analysts and partner closely with centers of excellence to follow governance and procedures for pre‑production activities supporting clients preparing to process credit card transactions with major card brands. You oversee integration testing across multiple segments, drive timely deliverables from subject matter experts, and manage escalations and special projects that improve testing quality. You optimize Technical Implementations processes through automation and innovation, and cultivate a culture of accountability, ownership, and client focus. You ensure strong risk and control practices while delivering measurable improvements to the client and partner experience.

You collaborate with cross‑functional stakeholders to evolve processes, metrics, and workflows, and you communicate trends and performance insights to senior management. Your leadership enhances testing quality and helps mitigate production issues post‑integration.

Job responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a team of Technical Implementations analysts, setting clear goals and providing coaching.
  • Investigate and resolve issues affecting compliance and audit readiness (including PCI); oversee action plans and emerging issues within the department.
  • Manage quality processes and procedures, maintain quality testing plans, and document testing results; expand testing where needed to mitigate post‑integration production issues.
  • Prepare reporting to validate quality results and highlight trends and opportunities for efficiency, performance improvement, and training.
  • Manage and audit individual performance quarterly; take corrective action when needed.
  • Participate in leadership meetings to review quality trends, operational issues, and compliance concerns impacting department operations.
  • Collaborate with partner teams to evolve processes, metrics, and workflows for continuous improvement.
  • Track and manage issues, ensuring effective communication of status and risks to senior management.
  • Drive deliverables from subject matter experts and oversee escalations and special projects to improve integration testing outcomes.
  • Contribute to special projects supporting top‑tier clients in merchant services.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Minimum 5 years of experience working with Operations and Technology teams, including prior management experience leading teams of 8-10 employees.
  • Advanced analytics and presentation capability: tell stories with data, detect meaningful trends, and define appropriate measurement methods.
  • Excellent execution skills with a strong risk and control mindset; ability to apply technology solutions to automate manual processes.
  • Attention to detail and strong problem‑solving skills; ability to apply frameworks and methodologies to de‑escalate internal and client‑facing issues.
  • Ability to promote a culture of teamwork and partnership across the department.
  • Ability to recognize issues and risks, initiate timely action, and escalate to management to minimize loss.
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to interact effectively with all levels of management, including senior executives.
  • Ability to work in a deadline‑driven environment and manage competing priorities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Visio, PowerPoint, and Excel.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Experience with core transaction processing platforms (e.g., Stratus, Tandem) and payment gateway operations.
  • Formal project management training or exposure to project management concepts.
  • Advanced understanding of networking and connectivity protocols relevant to integrations.
  • Ability to build cross‑functional relationships and leverage resources to resolve complex issues.
  • Understanding of PCI standards and ability to apply them in process and procedure development.
  • Industry knowledge of merchant acquiring, operational controls, and risk mitigation; track record of identifying and implementing improvements.
