Sr Principal Software Engineer - Executive Director

As a Senior Principal Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within Consumer & Community Banking, you will utilize your extensive engineering expertise to collaborate across agile teams, enhancing, building, and delivering trusted, market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable manner. You will leverage your deep knowledge to consistently challenge the status quo, promote innovation for business impact, and lead the strategic development of new and existing products and technology portfolios. Additionally, you will stay at the forefront of industry trends, best practices, and technological advancements.
Job responsibilities
- Advises cross-functional teams on technology selection to achieve target state architecture and decisions on improvements to current technologies
- Creates complex and scalable coding frameworks using appropriate software design
- Develops secure and high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others
- Serves as the function's go-to subject matter expert
- Contributes to the development of technical methods in specialized fields in line with the latest product development methodologies
- Creates durable, reusable software frameworks that improves velocity and quality of output across teams and functions
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 10+ years applied experience
- Strong platform and infrastructure engineering experience, especially experience developing and running large scale multi-tenant cloud infrastructure and platforms
- Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
- Expert Expertise in one or more programming language(s), e.g. Golang, Java
- Advanced knowledge of software architecture, application development, and technical processes with considerable in-depth knowledge in one or more technical disciplines (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)
- Experience applying expertise and new methods to determine solutions for complex architecture problems in one or more technical disciplines
- Ability to present and effectively communicate to senior leaders and executives
- Practical cloud native experience across one or more public cloud providers e.g. AWS, Azure, and GCP
- Deep knowledge on Terraform, Pulumi, Helm charts, Kubernetes
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Prior experience on developing and operating large scale Infra and Platform as a Service, on both control and data planes.
