As a Principal Architect at JPMorgan Chase in Infrastructure Platform Client Solutions team, act as a trusted architecture advisor to our business lines, providing expert guidance on how to leverage firm's existing and emerging infrastructure to meet market demands, risk, security requirements, and resilience.

You will act as a trusted architecture advisor to our business lines, providing expert guidance on how to leverage firm's existing and emerging infrastructure to meet market demands, risk, security requirements, and resilience. Work cross-functionally at the intersection of business strategy, enterprise architecture, firm-wide infrastructure product and public cloud capabilities to define and influence initiative solution design and technical roadmaps.

Job responsibilities

  • Primarily focus will be to support your line of business customer broadly as their cloud tech advisor and navigator of the Infrastructure Platform org which includes private and public cloud platforms, products, services, abstraction layers, and tooling.
  • Guide customers through the onboarding process and product setup according to customer requirements, leveraging deep understanding of our products and their capabilities, including new features and other enhancements. Work in a cross-functional matrixed team including other Solutions Architects, Customer Success Analysts, and Operational/Production support resources.
  • Proactively engage with IP Product management, line of business engineering and architecture leaders to facilitate translating business requirements into technical infrastructure capability requirements.
  • Recommend hybrid cloud models that combine on-premises infrastructure with public cloud resources to meet specific latency, cost, or data residency compliance and localization needs. Collaborate with multiple stakeholders on defining the right mix of public cloud offerings, architecture patterns to support specific business go-to-market strategy.
  • Participate in a design of complex, multi-region architectures that meet stringent requirements for latency, high availability, disaster recovery, and data sovereignty. Ensure that all solutions adhere to corporate cyber security and regulatory controls and policies ( PCI, etc.)
  • Present complex technical and business analysis to a diverse audience, from C-level executives and business unit leaders to fellow architects and technical teams. Influence decision-making by clearly articulating the strategic and financial value of proposed architecture options and recommendations.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • 10+ years of experience in an enterprise architecture, with at least 5 years in a senior or principal role focused on cloud and infrastructure architecture.
  • Expertise in the cloud infrastructure and service offerings of at least one major public cloud provider (AWS, Azure, or GCP), with a strong understanding of the others.
  • Proven experience in designing and implementing highly resilient complex multi-region, hybrid cloud architectures with on-prem and multi-cloud foot print.
  • Comprehensive understanding of platform, control vs data plane, compute ( virtualized and containers), network fundamentals, application integration patterns, data center operations, and global connectivity options.
  • Strong business acumen and a demonstrated ability to translate business needs into technical requirements and strategy. Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Ability to influence without direct authority.
  • Knowledge of data security, operational IT risk management principles and industry controls ( PCI, SOC, etc.)
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Advanced knowledge of the product development life cycle, technical design, and data analytics
  • Certifications in AWS (SA Associate level or above), or equivalent in Azure and/or GCP.
  • Familiarity with waterfall and agile methodologies, preferring waterfall for customer initiatives and agile for downstream collaboration
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to changing business needs and priorities
