Specialty Product Associate I - Commercial Letters of Credit Documents Examiner

As a Specialty Product Associate I - Commercial Letters of Credit Documents Examiner within the Trade & Working Capital Operations team at JPMorgan Chase, you will be responsible for examining shipping/transport documents against Letters of Credit (L/C) and applicable rules (i.e. UCP600 & ISBP). You will also be responsible for ensuring seamless workflow, and expediting urgent transactions as per Service Level Agreements (SLA).
The Payment Operations team under Trade & Working Capital department is seeking a high performing Associate candidate for examination of documents under Commercial Letters of Credit (LCs). You will collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure all client transactions are completed within agreed SLAs, deliver trade-related projects end to end, and continuously improve SLA performance while upholding a strong control environment.
Job responsibilities
- Process issuances, amendments, draws, etc. for our global clients.
- Examine shipping documents against the terms & conditions of Commercial Letters of Credit and provide 2nd check.
- Verify and check all requests comply with JPMorgan Chase policies as well as international rules such as ISP, UCP, local laws, etc.
- Be able to be a processor as well as checker of all details of the transaction in the system as per requirement.
- Be able to complete all transactions assigned to themselves and process with utmost quality.
- Identify any red flags/OFAC regulatory/Anti Money Laundering (AML) & Boycott language breach in the transaction.
- Be able to have good report preparation skills.

- Minimum of 5 years' experience as an examiner of Commercial Letters of Credit (LCs) Documents.
- Strong Knowledge of Uniform Customs and Practice for Documentary Credits (UCP 600), International Standard Banking Practice for Examination of Documents (ISBP), Boycott regulations, Office of Foreign Assets Control compliance, and Anti- Money Laundering is required.
- Experience working with various stakeholders, with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal and capable of developing strong story boards to support senior management update.
- Exceptional organizational skills with ability to prioritize demands/tasks based on priority level.
- Strong analytical ability with experience in analyzing and synthesizing large data sets
- Strong level of proficiency with Microsoft tools (Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Project),
- Ability to multitask and handle high stress while maintaining accuracy in tight deadlines
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work with cross-functional global teams and interact with all staff levels
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Certificate for Documentary Credit Specialists (CDCS) preferred
- Knowledge of Tableau, Alteryx preferred
This is a Monday - Friday, in office role (5 days).
