Software Engineer III - Test Automation
The Global Liquidity & Account Shared Services (GLASS) team is a key function within Corporate and Investment Banking (CIB) Banking Technology and is responsible for the cash accounts for the International region (Demand Deposit Accounting), Global Liquidity, and associated middleware. The teams are based in Bournemouth, London, Tampa, NY Metro, Chicago, Singapore, Mumbai, and Bangalore. This is a technical analyst role within the Account Services Technology team, where we are looking to build out a new capability leveraging our existing Demand Deposit Accounting/Sub Ledger/Model Bank capability and other evolving opportunities. The role will require cross Corporate and Investment Banking platform requirements coordination for integration across our existing and new services.
As a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Global Liquidity & Account Shared Services (GLASS) team you will be involved in end to end solutioning, you'll shape the technology solutions that drive strategic initiatives across the Portfolio. Working at the intersection of business and technology, you'll interact with colleagues in various lines of businesses to learn about challenges and opportunities, and translate that insight into high-quality solutions. In addition to working within the development team to create new solutions, you'll help optimize existing technology and identify new capabilities. While your role requires deep technological skills - including expertise in everything from data management to functional design - it also hinges on teamwork and leadership. You'll offer clear guidance and feedback to your Software Engineers, and partner closely with New Product Development, Enterprise Architects and Solution Architects.

Job Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts for ledgering systems and migration tooling, ensuring robust validation of financial data and processes.
- Analyze and validate ledgering functionalities, including booking date, value date, exposure date processing, and calculation of various balance types.
- Collaborate with business analysts and developers to understand data mapping requirements and ensure comprehensive test coverage for system migrations.
- Develop and refine automation frameworks to support end-to-end testing of migration tools, ensuring data integrity and compliance throughout the migration lifecycle.
- Plan and execute Non-Functional Requirements (NFR) testing, including performance, scalability, reliability, and security testing using industry-standard automation tools.
- Participate in migration planning, tool selection, and requirement refinement to support seamless data transfer between legacy and target systems.
- Execute and monitor automated test suites, analyze results, and report defects, working closely with cross-functional teams to drive timely resolution.
- Document test cases, test results, and automation processes to support audit and compliance requirements.
- Continuously improve QA processes by adopting best practices in test automation, ledgering validation, migration testing, and NFR testing.
- Mentor and guide junior QA engineers, sharing expertise and promoting a culture of quality and continuous improvement.
Required qualifications, capabilities and skills
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Experience in QA automation, with significant exposure to financial services or banking domains.
- Strong understanding of ledgering concepts, including booking date, value date, exposure date, and balance calculations.
- Extensive hands-on experience with test automation tools (e.g., Selenium, JUnit, TestNG, or similar frameworks).
- Proven experience with NFR testing and automation tools (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner, Gatling, or similar) for performance, scalability, and reliability testing.
- Demonstrated experience with data migration projects, including data mapping, migration tooling, and validation.
- Proficiency in scripting/programming languages such as Java, Python, or similar.
- Strong familiarity with database technologies (e.g., SQL, Oracle, MongoDB) and ability to validate data at the backend.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Proven ability to mentor and lead junior team members.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Agile methodologies is a plus.
