As a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Global ESX Infrastructure team, you will have the opportunity to advance your career by supporting large-scale enterprise systems. You will help build and run reliable, scalable, and secure ESX virtualization platforms, combining software and systems engineering to deliver creative solutions and promote operational excellence in a dynamic environment.
Job responsibilities
- Monitor, maintain, and improve reliability and availability of ESX environments
- Analyze system performance and implement optimization strategies for ESX hosts and virtual machines
- Set up and manage monitoring tools and alerting systems to proactively address issues
- Ensure ESX environments adhere to security policies and compliance requirements
- Add to team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect
- Monitor, maintain, and improve reliability and availability of ESX environments
- Respond to and resolve incidents, performing root cause analysis and implementing preventive measures
- Develop and maintain automation scripts for deployment, configuration, and remediation tasks
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience
- Strong experience with VMware ESX/ESXi and vCF administration and troubleshooting
- Proficient in scripting languages such as Python, JavaScript, or PowerShell
- Hands-on experience with incident management and troubleshooting in large-scale environments
- Solid understanding of networking, storage, and virtualization concepts
- Familiarity with Agile development processes and automated testing
- Experience with monitoring tools such as vRealize Log Insight or vRealize Aria Operations
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Experience designing and implementing Infrastructure as Code solutions
- Knowledge of automation frameworks and CI/CD pipelines
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- Exposure to financial services or regulated environments
